Fitzgerald Road Retreat
As you drive to 128 Fitzgerald Road you pass over a lovely Covered Bridge that takes you back to old time New England. You will enjoy a private entrance and bathroom in a very comfortable space to relax and explore NE Connecticut from. There is outside seating to enjoy your morning beverage or just relax from a day of site seeing this beautiful, hidden gem of New England charm. The accommodations have recently been remodeled, the king bed is brand new and the day bed is very comfortable. Enjoy! The space is warm and inviting. There is a 43" Smart TV on the wall in front of the king bed for your entertainment pleasure. You can watch live TV by accessing the Spectrum app on the TV. We provide coffee pods, tea bags, sugar packets, and creamers. The water from the faucet is well water, but there is bottled water in the fridge if you prefer it. I supply hotel size shampoo, conditioner and soap. I do not provide any food. There is motion sensitive lighting at the bottom of the driveway and outside the entrance to the space, so you can see the door and steps easily to enter safely. You have access to the private room and bathroom that is part of the space. You can also sit outside in the walk out patio. There are lawn chairs and a small bistro set there. Once your reservation is confirmed you can text or call me. I'd be happy to assist answering questions during your stay (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) is my cell number. Northeastern Connecticut is called the Quite Corner of CT. The area is rural with the charm of rolling pasture land, dotted with vegetable stands and apple orchards along RT 169 on the way to antique in neighboring Putnam, CT or to visit the private schools (Pomfret School, Rectory School and Woodstock Academy are all with in 10 miles) on Route 169 to Pomfret or Woodstock, CT. Uconn in Storrs CT is only 30 minutes away via Route 44, also a relaxing scenic route. Be sure to sample our local cuisine while visiting. I can offer suggestions, or just stop in and discover the delicious options on your own! The Airline Trail is a beautiful walking trail that I can direct you to. However, to get there and any other places in NE CT you do need a vehicle. We are not urban, there is no public transportation readily available to visitors. Your entrance is around the back of the house, in the walk out patio area. There is motion sensitive lighting for you to see the 3 steps and the door. There is a small bistro set with 2 chairs and 2 adirondack chairs for resting in the walk out patio.
