A 16th Century timber framed house offering a wonderful rural retreat on the unspoilt Suffolk/ Norfolk border in the heart of the Waveney Valley. Come and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Wingfield, relax and rejuvenate, away from the stresses and strains of everyday life. The Pope suite, an 18th Century room, comfortable and characterful. This room has a king-size brass bed with views over the fields, and an ensuite bathroom with both bath and shower. Seating area with coffee table and well stocked hospitality tray. Free view tv with DVD player and a selection of dvds for guests use. Also a small library of books for loan. Running a Bed and Breakfast has always my dream and this became possible when we moved to Holly Tree House in Suffolk in August 2010. Along with my husband Graham and our cocker spaniel Hattie we look forward to welcoming you to our home and want to ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout your stay! I very much enjoy cooking and baking and love to bake up special treats to welcome our guests and offer delights for you to enjoy at breakfast time. We use local produce including preserves as much as possible and I bake all my own bread and muffins to be enjoyed at breakfast time. If you have a favourite cake then please feel free to make a request and I’ll see what I can do! We also carer for all dietary requirements so please let me know in advance and I will prepare dishes especially for you. Wingfield is a small village in the Waveney Valley on the borders of Suffolk and Norfolk, although only small in size and quiet in nature there is an amazing amount of history linked to it. In Tudor times Wingfield was thought to be one of the richest villages in Suffolk, due to the wool trade.
