Welcome to our beautiful home! A lovingly restored 3 bedroom, 15th century cottage in the picturesque village of Ermington. A charming slice of English Heritage. Just 10 minutes from a stunning sandy beach. This cottage has been in our family for over a century, it has a real homely feel and boasts an array of original features, large stone fireplace, flagstone floor, beamed ceilings, cob stone walls. but has all the modern comfort that you need after a day at the beach or exploring the Devon countryside. The cottage has two large double bedrooms, one King size and one Double. Both beds have new mattresses for a great nights sleep! The big loft room has an over head projector and a big screen for fun movie nights or matinées. The 3rd bedroom has a pine cabin bed, with a possibility of a extra quality fold away bed or travel cot, if requested. A new upstairs luxury shower room with large rain shower. A down stairs family bathroom with bath. A homely farmhouse style kitchen with a large gas hob, double electric oven, dishwasher, mircowave, and dining table. The utility cupboard has a large 9kg washing machine and first aid kit. A cosy living room with both a 2 and 3 seater sofa, wood burner, smart WIFI HD TV with Sky basic package, DVD player. There are french doors leading out into the garden. There is wifi throughout the house. The cottage has its own delightful secure private garden with new rattan furniture, decking and pristine artificial grass lawn - Yay! No Mud! all year round. which is perfect for doggies. There is also a well stocked log store for use during your stay, for that real country cottage feel. The cottage offers a unique experience for families or friends wishing to explore the local south Devon area. Guests have access to the entire house and a private secure garden as if it were their own. We provide clean bed linen, fresh towels and dog towels for your furry friends. We recommend guests should bring their own beach towels. We will provide a welcome booklet and household manual including a unique guide we have personally written, with the best places to visit in the area. Should the need arise we will be contactable throughout your stay for any help or advice. We have designed our own guidebook to all the best kept secrets in the local area! There are beautiful beaches and smugglers coves in abundance along the south coast. There are gorgeous shops in the local villages of Modbury, Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcome, along with a fine collection of country pubs in every direction. Fabulous dog walks can be found everywhere from the famous South West coastal path to the infamous tors of Dartmoor. The cottage is strategically placed central to all of the most beautiful treasures Devon has to offer making it the perfect launch pad for your vacation or staycation. Ermington itself is home to The Crooked Spire pub; you can find out why it is called this by ambling through the cobbled alley way, over to Ermington Church and then look up. The First and Last Bistro is a bit further along past the church which has fantastic food and a new wine bar. The Plantation hotel is just over a hundred meters away if you are looking for an exquisite evening meal. Our fabulous local shop, Ermington store and more, stocks pretty much anything you could wish for. If dog walks are more your thing then from the front door you can either experience a woodland walk with a view over Modbury and the rolling countryside or a picturesque circular river walk that encounters some friendly livestock. The River Erme is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, and as a result there is a lot of wildlife. Kingfishers reside here and Egrets are now year-round residents. Curlew, oystercatchers and shelduck are also regular visitors. Further afield by car the sky is the limit. Your car is the best way to enjoy the wonders of the South Hams. The pub, the hotel and the bistro are in walking distance.
