Privacy and Comfort, just 5 minutes from the beach

Great location if you like being close to oceanside villages. This updated, private and well equipped suite is minutes to both Maple Bay and Crofton. If you like to hike or mountain bike Maple Mt. and Mt. Tzouhalem are also close by with amazing trails and spectacular views. The Cowichan Valley is home to many boutique shops, vineyards, breweries, farm to table restaurants and quaint pubs... some just down the road. Come enjoy in comfort, at your own pace. The suite is located downstairs in our family home. It has a separate entrance and parking area for two cars, giving plenty of privacy. Inside there is one bedroom with a queen bed and TV with lounge chair. There is room for an air mattress or crib if needed, it would be cozy, in order to accommodate small families. The main area is a large kitchen with full stove, fridge and dishwasher, as well as a dining table for four. A full bathroom with tub/shower and the necessities. There are plenty of closets and storage and access to a shared laundry room. To be clear there is no living room. It is a nice space of 700 sq ft, much bigger than hotel rooms, with all the comforts and more. The property is over 2 acres and Richards Creek runs through it. You will hardly have any neighbours in site, it is peaceful country living. Perhaps except for a chicken letting us know she has laid an egg! Parking and entry are separate. You will be the only ones in the suite, with your own kitchen and bathroom. We respect your privacy and will only be on hand if you desire it so. There is a key lock box for check-in and check-out, as well as plenty of local brochures and pamphlets for you to peruse. We are more than happy to assist you in any way, as we have been local residents for 30+ years. We do have three children, we will do our utmost to keep them quiet and out of your way. They are the friendly type. This is a great location to set up as base for exploring. The beach is 5 minutes either direction driving. Maple Bay has a fun Scottish pub with gorgeous views, kayak rentals, as well as good restaurants in Genoa Bay. Crofton has a couple pubs, a sea walk, ferry access to Salt Spring Island and a small grocery. Close by attractions include the Raptors Centre, Hand to Man Museum, Saison Vineyard, Alderlea Vineyard and two great mountain biking destinations. There is so much to discover in the outlaying communities in the Cowichan Valley. A car is definetly recommended to make your stay more enjoyable. The public bus is at the end of street, just 1 minute walk away. You can bike to Maple Mountain base it is within 2 kms. Downtown Duncan is a 10 minute drive, which will get you back on the highway. Basic kitchen essentials are supplied, such as olive oil, balsamic, sugar, tea, coffee and salt/pepper. If guests are looking to book long term stays it is preferred they are using the suite as a home base for working locally or visiting and getting out and about.
