Make your 2022 reservations now! Our calendar is booking quickly! Because we leave Tandem Trails to you and stay in our camper during bookings, we close from October 31 to April 1. Just forward to the dates you need and come enjoy! Canal Fulton is a little bit of everything! You can take a ride on one of our two bike trails. Canoe or kayak down the river. Climb aboard our Canal Boat or visit our quaint shops all just 2 blocks from Tandem Trails. Experience the best of small town America! Our century home, now known as Tandem Trails, was built in 1886 and sits two block from the quaint downtown with many restaurants and novelty shops for your pleasure. We have lived in and loved this home for 17 years, making updates and renovations, always with the thoughts of sharing our home and it's charm with others. When our daughter married in 2018, we decided to make her room into a Guestroom and list with AirBnB. That being said, this is our residence. Please read on! The Guestroom: is on the second floor, as is the guest bathroom. The bathroom is not in the bedroom, but down the hallway. There is only ever one set of guests in the house and the hosts reside outside of the home during a guest stay. The guestroom has a queen bed, a pull-out twin bed, and a kitchenette. There is a desk, if you would like to bring a laptop. WIFI is available. The guest bedroom is ONLY used as the Tandem Trails Guestroom and sits empty during off season. (October-April) AirBnB approved cleaning techniques are used between each and every guest to ensure cleanliness and guest safety. The bedroom door has a key lock for guest privacy and room security. Other spaces in the home: The living room and dining room are available to guests to have a comfortable seat in between your other activities. (Note: There is no television within the house, either in the living room or the guest room. We just don't feel it fits the decor. ) The kitchen and downstairs bathroom are host-only spaces. (Our home owners insurance requests guest not use the home kitchen). The hosts stay in their camper on the property, out of sight and behind the garage, but do come in through the back door to use the downstairs bathroom and the kitchen. Please know that you may hear the back door open while you are in the home. Please don't be alarmed. It is your hosts and we will leave quickly and quietly. Cleanliness and safety: The guestroom is only used as such and is cleaned and sanitized in between each and every stay, as well as the guest bath. During your stay, you and the hosts should not cross paths, or share the same doorknobs, areas, or furniture during your visit. etc We hope to welcome you or at least meet you eventually crossing paths in the driveway. Tandem Trails LOVES to cater to cyclists traveling through Canal Fulton. Because this is our residence, it is easy to turn the Guestroom over in a day and get ready for another cyclist. Thus we provide one night stays most of the available calendar. There are a very few times that we will make a 2 day stay a requirement because we are out of town and have to hire cleaners. 2021 Room Enhancements: Tandem Trails Guestroom NOW welcomes up to three guests. The Guestroom has a comfortable queen size bed with antique headboard and footboard. New to 2021 Season is a ottoman that pulls out to a twin mattress. This stays in the room and can comfortably accommodate a 3rd adult guest. (Because it would take up a walking footprint in the room, it will remain dressed but folded and available to pull (Email hidden by Airbnb) forter and pillow will be in the Guestroom closet. A pack and play is available for 0-2 years and will be set up prior to a visit, if requested. It also has a changing station and 2 height offerings. A playpen mattress is available with sheets, however I do not have a crib mattress. Reservations can be made with the pak-n-play OR the ottoman pull-out twin, but the room cannot accommodate BOTH. Four persons would be uncomfortable in the Guestroom would prevent the complete satisfaction we believe our guests should experience. 2021 Patio Enhancement: We have purchased a gas powered patio table with fire-center ambiance. This will compliment the guest patio April, September, and October, when chillier nights are possible. This makes the guest patio a perfect place to sip a glass of wine even on a crisp fall evening. Tandem Trails is a guestroom with a queen bed, pull-out twin, and access to a private bath within a century home that is also residence to the hosts and their 2 Old English sheepdogs, Beau and Maggie. (The hosts and their two mascots enjoy their camper on the opposite side of their garage while the Guestroom is reserved.) The guests pull into the guest parking that is on Birch Street, turning onto Birch from Market. Guests gain access to the house through the FRONT door, taking them directly into the dining room and up the stairs where the guest room and guest bath are located. Days before arrival, the hosts will send you a message through AirBnB to give you instructions regarding guest access to the FRONT door. Because this is our home and we have family day-to-day activity throughout the week, we ask that you respect our Friday 3pm check-in time in order to transform this lovely home into the place of respite you deserve. If no guests follow you in reservation, you are welcome to request a delayed check-out. Our kitchen is not available for guests to prepare or heat a meal, because our home owner's insurance asks this of us. Snacks have been provided in the Guestroom as well as a coffee maker. There is a refrigerator in case you have leftovers or treats you plan to take home, however, there is no microwave. Meal preparation cannot take place by guests in the home. You are welcome to bring take-out back to the patio or dining table. We encourage you to take a 2 block stroll into town and take advantage of any of our fine eateries! During a guest stay, the hosts will enter the home through the BACK door to utilize the kitchen and/or the downstairs bathroom off of the kitchen. Tandem Trails Guestroom is a bedroom within our home. Over the years, we have shared our home with many guests from various states and even internationally through a cycling website called Warm Showers. We love having guests and getting to know cyclists from all walks of life. When our daughter officially married and vacated her room, we joined with AirBnB. We understand, due to Covid, that people may want to maintain distance during their stay. We have defined host only areas of the home (kitchen and downstairs bath) and guest only area (Entire upstairs, stairwell, outdoor patio). You may use dining room and living room also if you desire seating areas. There are certainly opportunities that we may run into each other in the driveway and if we see you, we will of course welcome you! You will have access to come and go from the house as you please. We love our town and would be happy to make recommendations or allow you to explore yourself. There is a directory and a map in the guestroom for your use. Whether you are seeking opportunities for adventure, fun, history, or just the feel of a friendly small town, Canal Fulton has something to offer everyone. Come and stay in Tandem Trails and let us welcome you!! Our home sits two blocks away from: Deliciously Different Candy Shop, Dragonfly Tea room and Winery, multiple taverns, Speak Easy coffee shop, Canal Fulton Canoe Livery that also rents bikes, Heritage Park where you can get on a Canal Boat ride, two ice cream shops, a beautiful library, Toys That Time Forgot, an antique toy store. Also downtown are entrances to two parallel trails, the Muskingum and the Ohio & Erie Canal. Both accommodate pedestrians and cyclist. The Muskingum also accommodates horses. Both travel along the canal and/or river and are picturesque and peaceful. It would be our pleasure to welcome you to what we call "home". Our home is 2 blocks from many quaint sights and novelty shops. Should you need a grocery or drug store, they are a 5 minute car drive to a Canal Fulton shopping area with a Rite Aid and a Giant Eagle. A major expressway, Route 21, is 2 miles from our home. While Canal Fulton is small-town, (population app. 5,000) it is a short drive to Akron and Canton and a 50 minute scenic drive to Holmes County, the heart of Amish County. There is a specially designed gravel parking area for guests and their vehicles. Guests turn off of Market Street onto Birch(not yet marked). If you are a cyclist, we will be happy to place your bikes in our garage overnight and make them available to you when you are ready to leave. Ray is an avid cyclist and loves to host cyclists from the trails. Prior to AirBnB, we had been hosting cyclists over a non-fee website for years, Warm Showers. Regardless of your mode of transportation, we have plenty of "parking."
