Lakeside house ideal for family gathering on a quiet lake. Shelter in place in luxury. Perfect place to get away from it all and recharge your batteries. Sunny, well-equipped modern house with wraparound deck and screened-in porch. Great fishing. Like the Boundary Waters, but without the tent. Full house and environs including 18 acres of woods and 1500 ft of shoreline with dock. Two aluminum canoes and kayak, floats, games, books We are in Minneapolis (3.5 hours away), but available by email and phone. Local people help with cleaning and mowing, and if you have an emergency. Very private. The lake is quiet - no big power boats, only the occasional canoe and small fishing boat. The big Lake Vermilion is not accessible by boat from our dock (although we often canoe down the river and then take the portage over the dam into Vermilion for a day trip). There are marinas that rent boats and sponsor guided fishing tours there, and public access for your own boat. There is also public water access off route 1 to our part of the lake, so you can motor over from there to our dock. There is a convenience store and gas station a mile away. Town of Tower is a 10 min drive with full grocery, hardware store and some shops. Town of Ely is 30 min away with Wolf Center, Bear Center, good restaurants, quaint shops. The Fortune Bay Casino and golf course is 10 minutes away and Giant's Ridge ski slopes and golf is 25 minutes away. Dirt/gravel road to house. Garage has room for one car. Lots of room in driveway for another SUV, truck, or several more cars. Sauna is available for guests. Wifi and 2 flat-screen monitors (in common room and master suite) with HDMI connection and adapters so you can stream programs from your computer. No television subscription.
