Cosy 2 bedroom cottage in beautiful North Devon

Daffodil Cottage is one of 9 cosy cottages converted from 1800's farm buildings. Set in a rural location yet only a 10 minute drive to some of Devon's best beaches, the beautiful South West coastal path and many local attractions. Exmoor National Park is a short drive away as well as access to the famous Tarka Trail. There is access to a large shared garden and guests will also benefit from shared use of a games barn with pool table, dart board, table tennis and shared use of the tennis court The cottage has a modern kitchen to enable you to self cater during your stay should you wish to. There is a 2 ring induction hob, a combination microwave oven which will cook most dishes. If you have not used one before there are instructions. There is an under counter refrigerator NOTE IT DOES NOT HAVE a freezer compartment. Dishes, cutlery, utensils, washing up equipment and bin bags all provided. The cosy living area offers comfortable seating for 4. There is a tv and games in the cupboard for your use. A small separate dinning room will give you an extra area for meals, games or work space. Upstairs, on the landing is a night light which we recommend, as it can be very dark at night. There is a stairgate in the bedroom cupboard should you have children. It is there for you to fit to the top of the stairs should you wish to. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and bath along with an electric shower fitted in the bath. The room is light and airy, hand soap and toilet roll is supplied. Bedroom one has a double bed, bedside lighting and a built in wardrobe with shelf and hangers supplied. Bedroom 2 has a single 2ft 6'' bed, bedside lighting and a clothes cupboard. An additional 2ft 6'' bed can be set up along side to accommodate an extra person. NOTE this bed is a guest bed on legs, It will be alongside bed 1 but does not make a double bed (see photos). Alternatively the 2nd bed can be set up at floor level (again see photos). Should you prefer, this space could also be used to set up a travel cot if you wish to bring one. Please let me know what set up you prefer at least 7 days prior to arrival. There is free WIFI - code available on arrival in information book. Bed linen and towels (one bath one hand per person) will be provided. NOTE; there is no washing machine at this property During your stay you are welcome to use the communal areas along with the guests in the other cottages: BBQ AND SEATING AREA - a brick built BBQ would be suitable for standing your own disposables on GAMES BARN – here you can find a full sized pool table (two 20p coins needed for this), table tennis, darts and other games. There is a seating area with tables, great for evening entertainment or a rainy day. NOTE: due to COVID restrictions this may be closed during your stay. Notices on the door will advise you if it is not open to the public TENNIS COURT - a nice space to hit a few balls. WASHING LINE AREA – useful for drying wet suits and beach equipment TWO GRASSED AREAS - there is a picnic table here for general use and the field can be used for ball games, picnics and star gazing. A rug and stargaze book can be found in Daffodil Cottage lounge cupboard/shelves to help with this Free off road parking Please park between the white markers Steps in the corner of the car park take you down a couple of steps and through a gate to your right. DO NOT go through the arch into the courtyard, INSTEAD turn right across the back of the cottages. Daffodil is the 2nd cottage and the only one with a back entrance. The key safe box is to the left of the back door and the code will be sent to you 24 hours before check in. I can be contacted during your stay but not available in person Daffodil Cottage is in a rural location, only 10 minutes walk to the small village of West Down where there is a pub serving good food, a community shop and a church. A 10 minute drive takes you to the long sandy beach at Woolacombe. Other surfing beaches of Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands within 10 miles. You will be in easy reach of South West Coast path, Exmoor National Park, Tarka cycling trail, Lundy Island, Clovelly plus The Big Sheep and Milky Way family attractions.
