Georges House On The Hill Portscatho
George's is a quaint fisherman's cottage, a sweet detached traditional stone cottage suitable for a family holiday or a romantic getaway. The two bedroom property has a newly fitted kitchen and bathroom meaning it is not only clean and tidy but it is stylish and easy to use. It boasts a separate living and dining room with additional space outside in the form of a small back courtyard, perfect for outdoor sandwiches before you hit the beach! The property can sleep up to four with a double master bedroom and a second large bedroom with fun twin beds. We want to try and make your holiday as relaxing as possible so if you are travelling as a family enjoy the toybox, sweetie tin, baby gates and baby cot all there to make your trip as carefree as possible. Downstairs in the snug you'll be able to unwind on a comfy sofa with our wood burner (fitted late May) so you can keep cosy in the evenings, we also welcome you to help yourself to a book off the shelf for some you time. Have a look in the front cover, if its one we've read you'll find a little review. If you head to the back room you'll find lots of beach stuff in the cupboard, from buckets and spades to balls and windbreaks, be sure to take our crabbing bucket down to the Slipway too for some family fun. Talking of family fun, if you do encounter any traditional British weather we have you covered in the Dining room you'll find a selection of games and puzzles in the cupboards and we recommend treating yourself to one of our hand poured candles to cosy up! When the weather is brighter we would love for you to find a shell for our shell cubby, pop it on a shelf in the dinning room and pop your name and date next to it so we don't forget your stay! In the Bathroom towels are supplied and we have partnered with House who make the most beautiful Handmade soaps so expect a luxury experience all in the name of supporting small business! The bathroom is newly fitted with a bath and a power shower. The luxury continues into the kitchen with Neptune kitchenware and Glassware. We also have made sure the kitchen is well equipped so don't be scared to prepare your usual Sunday roast everything you need will be there! There is a local shop in the village which is incredibly well stocked but the kitchen will be stocked with salt and pepper, olive oil, milk, teabags, sugar and something sweet for your arrival. They'll also be washing up liquid, toilet rolls, detergent and bin bags on hand to make life a little easier for you. If you are planning on having a fire while staying at George's let us know before your stay and we will make sure the fire is set ready for your arrival. The Hidden Hut cook book has pride of place on our kitchen shelf so make sure you get the chance to cook one of their dishes, you are just by Porthcurnick after all, there are seafood picks and lobster crackers in the draw if you are inspired by the sea. Cornwall is never short of fun but if you need inspiration I have popped together a little guide of our favourite places. We love a walk and a relax when we get to Portscatho and sometimes we never leave the village but our guide will give you a few key spots that we really love to visit together as a family when we can tear ourselves away from the beach. Please note Georges does not have parking but to the rear of the property there is a large free parking car park no more than 30 metres away. Take a right at the Standard and you'll find it on the left hand side directly after the green, this is a particularly good spot for some incredible views.
