Noel & Christina (and our friendly labradoodle Bella) offer you a warm and friendly welcome to our home. Don't get the wrong idea – The Monkey House isn't a residence for monkeys – it's named after the majestic Chilean Pine situated in the front garden! It just makes us easy to find! Our home is a 1930’s semi-detached property which we had extended in 2000 to accommodate our growing family and our art & design business. Now that our sons have flown the nest we have more rooms than we can use! We currently have two bedrooms; ‘Tree View’ a single/twin room and ‘Garden View’ a kingsize room, a bathroom shared with guests only. NB: If you are a family or a party requiring a second room then please see our other listing - Monkey House - 'Garden View' our kingsize room to book. (If you are planning a trip with young children under the age of 7, please contact us before booking.) Should you wish to stay longer than 7 nights, please contact us as we may consider individual requests. Also upstairs is a room we call 'The Den' – a shared 'office' come 'hospitality' space where you can work or prepare hot drinks. Downstairs we've made a living room space available where you can relax in two comfortable sofas whilst you read, play board games or watch TV. You're also most welcome to sit out in our garden - weather permitting! Breakfast will be served in our shared dining area and guests may make use of of this space to eat their own meals. Crockery, glasses and cutlery will be available for you to use as wil the use of our microwave to reheat food. Please note that breakfast will be a simple 'help-yourself' affair offering cereals, toast, etc. (please let me know when booking if you have any dietary requirements.) Alternatively, there are several shops nearby that cater for breakfast baps or lunchtime snacks. Located just off the A34 in Stone with plenty of free off-road parking on our driveway, we are just a short 10-15 minute drive from J14 or J15 of the M6 . Local shops on our doorstep provide most necessities and it's only a 10 minute walk into the town centre. We're also on a direct bus route to Stafford or the Potteries, with a train station just across town. Stone’s charming town centre is just a short 10-15 minute walk away crossing the River Trent and the Trent & Mersey canal. With a plethora of excellent restaurants, takeaways and pubs you’ll be spoilt for choice! Stone has a popular monthly Farmers’ Market and renowned Food Festival held 1st weekend in October each year. Also, right on our doorstep we’ve several local shops including a small Co-op, a newsagent, pharmacy, florist, hairdresser, bakery, butchers (delicious bacon butties) and even an excellent Fish & Chip shop. We’re halfway between Stafford (J14) & Stoke-on-Trent (J15) off the M6 so we’re easily accessed from both north and south. With plenty of parking on our driveway, we are ideally located just off A34 in Stone, Staffordshire. There's a regular bus service between Stafford and Hanley (for the Potteries) nearby and a local train station just across town for which a lift can be arranged if necessary. We're ideally placed with plenty of interesting places to visit nearby including Alton Towers, Cannock Chase, the Peak District. Trentham Gardens, the Monkey Forest and The World of Wedgwood are only a 10 minute drive away. Stone’s charming town centre is just a short 15 minute walk away across the River Trent and the Trent & Mersey canal. With a plethora of excellent restaurants, takeaways and pubs you’ll be spoilt for choice!
