Stunning views from a stunning cottage
Originally a millers' cottage, about 300 years old, this beautifully furbished home boasts stunning views across a Cotswold valley. This cottage is not without its idiosyncrasies, but in my view it is small but perfectly formed! This is the sort of place you would come to be peaceful and look over a view that you can't help but smile at, and maybe use it for a base to explore the surrounding countryside - the Cotswold Way, Cotswold villages and the surrounding market and Regency towns. The roads around the cottage are small, single-track and not for the faint-hearted, so please be warned! The cottage has a kitchen, and you are welcome to use anything in it - I will provide tea, coffee and milk, but please replace anything else that you use. Although there is internet, there is no television. The bathroom only has a bath, with a connected shower hose, so please be careful when you use it! There are two bedrooms, both with a high and bespoke standard of decor, the larger of which has a small balcony on which you can sit and enjoy the view. These may have my personal effects in them, but I can make space for your storage depending on your stay length. The lounge has a woodburner and boardgames (but please note, no television). There is parking space for one car, and there is some private space in the form of a patio outside my Bothy just across from the cottage, but it may not be available if I am using it. This is a lovely and friendly neighbourhood, with the main noise coming from children playing outside (like they used to in the good old days), foxes, owls and chickens. There is a short (but steep) walk onto the nearby common, which is lovely to watch the sunset from. As noted earlier, you will just need some confidence with the driving. It is a two mile walk into Stroud centre and the train station. There are three pubs within walking distance, all with different characters and serving good food. There is no washing machine available. There is also no single bed in the small bedroom. There is a mattress available but as this is being offered for longer lets, it allows people to store effects. Due to my circumstances, this is my home that I am offering for an indeterminate let time. I am happy to negotiate on time and price and other arrangements.
