I would like to think that Amber House is unique because it has carved a special place within the community of Staffordshire and is known for the quality of my warm hospitality, the genuine welcome; and has been described as a foodie’s delight! This, along with my knowledge of local information. It all began in 1992 when I moved to the Cathedral Close in Lichfield with my 9 year old son. One of the clergy asked if I would offer hospitality to some members of a visiting orchestra as they were stuck for somewhere to stay. Having come from a large and busy family home, I thought this would be a good idea. I had already relinquished my job as a teacher to make sure I could fulfil parental requirements at the time. So, I began my journey of hospitality and have never looked back! I have now lived in this area since 1980 and my knowledge of the wider district has developed almost in pace with the increasing years! This was the precursor for all my activities at Amber House Alrewas. My main aim is to make sure guests can totally relax, feel comfortable and are well looked after. Alrewas is one of the oldest recorded communities in the Midlands. Originally called 'Alders Wash' in the Doomsday Book as Alder trees were planted on marshy ground and the makings of today's village developed Amber House is within walking distance of 3 village pubs, an Indian restaurant, and 2 takeaways. It has a good infrastructure of shops including traditional butcher, hairdresser, dentist, doctors, and last but by no means least very relaxing canal walks.
