Lakeview Cottage is a self contained holiday cottage at Roache House Farm, which on The Roaches, in Upper Hulme, Staffordshire and within the Peak District National Park. Lakeview Cottage is a cosy, little cottage with a log burner, tv with all modern apps and a fully equipped kitchen. Every window provides a view of the beautiful countryside. Other guests may rent the cottage across the courtyard, called The LittleBarn, also on air bnb. The cottage is comfortable, cosy and exudes character with oak beams and period charm. There is a log burner in the kitchen / dining area. The upstairs bathroom has a beautiful, Victorian style, roll top bath to soak in after a day of walking in the hills. Guests have their own outside patio area at the front of the cottage, with views down towards Tittesworth Reservoir and the local market town, Leek. The cottage is located at The Roaches which provides an opportunity to explore sights such as Luds Church, Doxey Pool and Hen Cloud, with paths providing access to the Peak District National Park. The cottage sits right on a public footpath leading up to The Roaches or down to Tittesworth Reservoir. It is surrounded by a working farm, which has sheep, cows and horses adjacent to the cottage. The wifi internet is excellent to work from home and 4G is perfect on devices so normal roaming internet on phones etc is available. There is a smart tv with free view channels, Netflix and Amazon video and a radio. Drive straight up to the property, park on gravel outside! A car is recommended to get around to see the sights. I am available by phone and text at anytime. The hamlet of Upper Hulme and The Roaches is well known for its striking rock formation and beautiful green countryside, famous for its climbing and walking opportunities. The cottage is just below the main entrance to the Roaches, nestled on the hills below and over looking Tittesworth Reservoir. There are two pubs nearby- The Lazy Trout in Meerbrook (a short drive or 25 min walk through the fields) or Ye Old Rock Inn, in Upper Hulme. Upper Hulme is the hamlet through which you will pass as you drive to the cottage. It is just off the A53 between the towns Leek and Buxton. The Tea Rooms along the main road below The Roaches, sell delicious day time snacks and lunches. Dogs are very welcome but we will request an extra cleaning fee as it does take time to clean up after a dog has visited.
