Gite Baumelin is the hamlet of Baumelin in the beautiful Rance Valley. Spectacular walks through the woodlands and waterside to the Barrage de Rophemel can be accessed just 5 minutes walk from our Gite. We are 2 kilometres from the village of Guenroc and 20 kilometres south of Dinan, probably Brittany's most spectacular mediaeval town. We are 35 minutes drive from the Emerald Coast, with seaside towns of Dinard and Saint Lunaire, the port town of Saint Malo and beautiful beaches at St. Cast le Guildo and St. Jacut de la Mer. Just 12 kilometres from the large lake of Betineuc, with water sports, swimming, fishing and sailing. 5 minutes walk from the private Chateau de Beaumont, 10 minutes drive from the Chateau de Couellan, Caulnes, with beautiful gardens, and 35 minutes from medieval chateau of Combourg. Our region is very rural and tranquil and Gite Baumelin is a perfect base for cycling and hiking in the surrounding countryside. There is plenty of parking space at Gite Baumelin. The nearest train station is at Caulnes, 5 kilometres distant; this links directly to Renne's central station (46K) where the TGV can be accessed all over France, with Paris just 1hr45 away.
