Room with a mountain view, north of Brisbane

Our secluded and tranquil house on uphill with a mountain view is close to the historical Old Petrie Town and walking spots, on the north side of Brisbane, 30 km from the city (35 minutes with a direct express train), and less than an hour drive to Sunshine Coast, and approximately 30 mins drive to Brisbane Domestic and International Airports. You’ll love our place because it is in a luscious green environment and quiet bush setting. Our place is good for couples, and families (with a child), friends or students. The simple, yet stylish air-conditioned room features a very comfortable queen bed and a single bed with quality linen both, a bedside table with a bedside lamp, a small table with comfy armchairs, a large screen TV, a stainless steel bar fridge, and a wardrobe for extra storage. If you like nature, you will love the bird life and may see koalas on the neighbouring trees. Our street is a cul-de-sac and is very quiet. Our family house is spacious and bright. It keeps warm in winter and cool in the summer. Your bedroom has a queen and single bed both with firm mattresses. Bath towels and toiletries are also provided. The room has an air-conditioning unit, opening window with Venetian blinds and a secure sliding door with block-out curtains and with a direct access to the outdoor area for hot summer nights. A wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, toiletries and magazines to read are available. You can park your car on the concrete drive in front of our house overnight as long as it is moved in the morning before 7 am before we go to work. Alternatively, you can park on the grass under the tree at the front of the house. Please do not park in front of the garage as we need direct access to it. I work from home occasionally and need direct access to the garage due to my work. You will have access to a completely separated downstairs self-contained bedroom, shared bathroom, living/kitchen/dining area, and laundry with a deck area. The kitchenette facilities include a coffee machine with capsules, a toaster, a microwave oven and hot plates. Complimentary coffee and tea are provided. A lovely, quiet and very friendly lady lives downstairs in her own room. Your bathroom, living, kitchen, dining area and the laundry will be shared with her. You will have free access to the garden outdoor setting downstairs. Amy and I came from Europe, and love having guests to stay with us. Amy & Norbert We love living in our home with a mountain and treetop view in a peaceful area not too far from the city, but it is still close to Sunshine Coast and close to Old Petrie Town Markets. There are shops in the neighbouring Frenchs Forest Shopping Centre including, but not limited to a supermarket, a bottle shop, a newsagent’s, a chemist’s, a doctor’s, a hairdresser’s & a takeaway shop within 500 metres walk from our house. Also, within short driving distance is Lake Kurwongbah, Old Petrie Town (a historical village showcasing the Australia of yesteryear and providing venue for the Sunday markets), Young’s Crossing (a local swimming spot) as well as several parks and walkways in which koalas may be spotted as they inhabit the local area. Within driving distance is also the picturesque Dayboro, Samford Village, Mount Mee, Mount Glorious, Mount Clear, Bullocky Rest picnic area at Lake Samsonvale which have scenic national parks as well as the beautiful seaside Redcliffe, Scarborough, Margate, Sandgate and Shorncliffe suburbs. Shoppers will love North Lakes Westfield Shopping Centre and IKEA. If you like playing golf, there are Pine River Golf Clubs and Northlake Resort Golf Club approximately 10-15 minutes drive. We are 30 kms north of Brisbane in a beautiful area very close to Old Petrie Town and less than an hour drive to the stunning Sunshine Coast. We live in a leafy, quiet area in a cul-de-sac, so having your own car would be the best. Otherwise you can catch the Caboolture train line or Nambour express to Brisbane CBD and then a TAXI or UBER to/from our house (about 5 min drive to Petrie train station). Alternatively, the closest bus stop to Petrie train station is within 500 metres, 7 mins walking distance from our house. We are 30 mins drive from Brisbane International and Domestic airports- travel towards Sunshine Coast on the M1 and turn off at Murrumba Downs. The closest shopping centres at Warner, North Lakes or Strathpine are each about 10 mins drive. There is a local Woolworths in Petrie (5 mins drive) and the Old Petrie Town Markets on Sundays (5 mins drive). We have two young female strictly indoor cats living upstairs. If you don't like cats - our place may not be right for you. They sleep upstairs and have no access to the downstairs bedroom. Guest may have friends/family over for a visit, but no other people are permitted to stay other than the guests that have booked through Airbnb website prior to arrival, friends/family are required to leave by 8.00pm. Please respect the room like it’s your own, switch off the lights and air conditioning if you will not be occupying the room for some time, smoking is not allowed in the room and outside the premises. As we live upstairs and an elderly lady lives downstairs, we ask our guests to keep your noise to a reasonable level. Please leave the room at departure as you found it on arrival. No entering host’s upstairs area, laundry area and double garage. No parties or events. May not be safe or suitable for infants (Under 2 years) Not suitable for pets Check-in is after 2PM Smoking is not allowed in and outside premises. Please leave wet towels on the rack in the bathroom to dry. If you are checking in after 8pm please let us know prior.
