The Rose & Crown is a friendly Free House based in Thorpe-le-Soken within easy reach of popular local seaside towns. We offer a complete dining, entertainment and accommodation package with our popular lounge bar, fantastic restaurant and our newly refurbished boutique bed and breakfast rooms with en-suite facilities. We pride ourselves on providing a friendly atmosphere and giving our guests the opportunity to sample seasonal, locally sourced products expertly prepared by our Chefs. These boutique guest rooms have all been refurbished to the highest of standards and are available as doubles, twins, or for single occupancy. Please note that all rooms are double rooms unless requested as twins. Twin rooms must be ordered before 1pm on the day of arrival The facilities in the rooms include secure door entry system, flat screen TV (featuring digital television and radio), inbuilt Bluetooth music system, free Wi-Fi, central heating and full double glazing. All rooms have complimentary tea and coffee facilities and feature en-suite bathrooms with heated towel rails, shaver points and complimentary toiletries. Bed and breakfast rates include a freshly prepared full English or continental breakfast. The premises are monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. Our private car park offers limited car parking so booking is strongly advised. The Rose & Crown Inn, which has a history that can be traced back to the early 18th century, was taken over by local businessman Peter Harrison who has embarked upon a remarkable project to totally refurbish the pub and restaurant areas, as well as creating four new en-suite rooms finished to the highest standards. The aim was to create the perfect bar, restaurant and accommodation that would appeal to both villagers and bed & breakfast guests alike. The Rose & Crown is now run by Peter’s daughter, Sarah, whose emphasis is very much on offering quality accommodation combined with great food. Sarah is very proud of what has been achieved and is really pleased with the amazing feedback from guests who find the accommodation to be of the highest quality. The restaurant provides a relaxing atmosphere, and a broad range food and refreshments throughout the day and evening, including morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, and evening meals. The area has easy access to the popular seaside resorts of Clacton on Sea, Frinton -on Sea and Walton on the Naze and larger towns of Colchester and Ipswich.
