Sleeping up to six guests across three spacious bedrooms, Swiss Cottage is perfect for families and groups of friends alike. The charm of Swiss Cottage is felt from the moment you step into the property. Beginning in the living room, you’ll find a comfy sofa and a matching armchair, all in front of a large flat-screen TV equipped with Freeview and Netflix. You’ll certainly be able to enjoy cosy, relaxing nights with your loved ones at Swiss Cottage. Step into the kitchen and guests will be greeted with a space that perfectly combines traditional and modern. Fully equipped with appliances including a fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, oven and hobs, you’ll have everything you need to make the most of your self-catering stay in County Durham. The room is finished with shiny white cupboards and wooden worktops. Head to the dining area and you’ll be greeted to a roomy dining table with six chairs. This really is a great spot to enjoy an evening meal with your family or friends joining you on your break in the North East. All three bedrooms at Swiss Cottage can be found upstairs. Each room has its own individuality with the master bedroom having a king size bed complete with a sandy coloured throw and the second bedroom being a coastal blue double. The third bedroom has a three-quarter size bed. All beds are made up using plush bedding and premium bed linens. The family bathroom at Swiss Cottage boasts a bathtub with overhead shower, a wash basin and WC. There is also a separate WC available for guest use downstairs. Outside you'll find a table with four chairs, providing a good space to relax in the summer months. Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. We’re always available for our guests so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Swiss Cottage is located in the quaint village of Shotley Bridge. Located on the eastern bank of River Derwent, it’s a beautiful place packed with stone houses and delightful walks. Discover independent shops which have a noticeable Victorian feel, cosy cafes and delicious restaurants. If you’re looking for somewhere to truly relax, Shotley Bridge is the perfect place. The closest town to Shotley Bridge is Consett which is a vibrant town in North West Durham. The Coast to Coast cycle route passes through Consett and is known as the UK’s most popular long-distance cycle route. If you’d prefer a more relaxed visit, you can explore The Glass and Art Gallery, Derwent Reservoir and many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. The closest train station to Shotley Bridge is Stocksfield which is a 15 minute drive away. Stocksfield is a small yet sprawling commuter village which is served by the Tyne Valley Line, with trains running to Newcastle, Hexham and Carlisle. The V9 bus route travels through to Consett from Shotley Bridge station.
