Original shepherds hut with lake views
Welcome to the Withy Hut at Woodfrys Farm & Campsite. It's an original Farris' shepherds hut which was built in nearby Shaftesbury over 100 years ago. Lovingly restored during 2021, the hut is now a comfy and original place to stay. Inside you'll find a generous double bed and log burner, with willow storage baskets. Outside, the generous outdoor area includes a hand-crafted and well stocked field kitchen with views over the Water Meadow, fire pit and an outdoor shower shack and compost toilet. Situated in Melbury Abbas in North Dorset, you can walk from the door out onto the National Trust's Melbury Beacon, or along to Breezy Ridge Vineyard for local wines and deli food. A walk, cycle or 7 minute drive away is the market town of Shaftesbury, full of independent shops with local museums and of course the famous 'Gold Hill'. You are in easy reach of everything that Dorset has to offer with a range of beaches within 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 mins or explore the many hillforts adn ancient sites that Dorset is famous for. The Withy Hut comes with it's own parking space, with the campsite parking area nearby if you have more than one vehicle. You can walk or cycle from the door, or Shaftesbury is a short 7 minute drive away where you can find all the amenities.
