Whether you are wanting to enjoy a family holiday or a romantic break for two the quiet Hamlet of Sandside located within the Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty won’t disappoint. The floor to ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the River Kent estuary and out to the Lake District, watch the ever changing tides & take in some spectacular sunsets. The area boasts a network of footpaths & stunning scenery further afield is the beautiful Lake District National Park. The house is a brand new holiday let furnished with a nautical theme to take account of its location. Each room is beautifully decorated with the lounge & master bedroom enjoying spectacular views across the water with the Lake District hills in the background. The master bedroom has a king size bed, wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and a small sofa. The second bedroom is compact has twin beds with a small storage area and bedside tables. There is a shower but no bath in the shower room. Parking is available directly outside the house however we would advise parking on the road to the rear of the house especially if arrival is late at night when it’s dark as there are no street lights on the small road leading to the property. Access is via a key safe outside of the property. We provide support throughout your stay and can be contacted via phone or email The small hamlet of Sandside is located between Milnthorpe & Arnside. The property is set back from the coastal road. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep. Discover the many lovely wooded walks around National Trust owned Arnside Knott, a 520 ft flat rock, head up to admire the view from the Pepper-Pot at Silverdale or ramble around the coast with its cliff top walks and sea views. The Arnside bore is an impressive rush of water caused by a combination of the high tidal range and the shape of the bay which narrows into the Kent Estuary at Arnside. To give yourself the best chance of seeing an impressive bore wave, make sure you visit during a predicted tide of 9.5m or more, or preferably a spring tide. ! The bore normally occurs 2.5 hours before the high tide. There is a small Information Centre at the Old Station Building in Arnside.Here you will find a great selection of leaflets on walking, cycling and the amazing wildlife in the AONB. There are pubs and cafes located in Arnside, Silverdale, Beetham & Milnthorpe many serve food all day. You can download the app & order on line for collection There are several cafes along the promenade in Arnside Posh Sardine The old Bake House (sells a delicious range of pies) Beach walk café 35 Redhills Road Arnside . This café is situated as you walk out along the promenade & follow the coast line for ¼ mile . You will find the café alongside the RNLI on a small track that will also take you to Arnside Knot. Bob in cafe New Barns Road - walk along the prom and continue walking along the shore as far as you can see until you reach a caravan site the café is located as you enter the site. Opening hours 7am to 12.30 Sunday closes at 10.30 A 15 minute pleasant walk from the house Arnside Londis Silverdale Co-op Milnthorpe Booths – our favourite place for lovely food but not the cheapest ! Spar at the petrol station Carnforth Booths Aldi Tesco There is a local bus service, taxis and a train station in Arnside. There is a taxi company located very close to the house There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep, park up your car for the duration of your stay and enjoy the beautiful area At the current time there is no access to the balcony on the ground floor. The balcony is partially constructed but limited materials and planning permission have resulted in completion being delayed. There is a small balcony accessible from the master bedroom
