The bunkhouse has viewing windows of the river. Relax down at the river in the hammock or use our picnic basket and have a picnic at the river! Swing out into the river on the rope swing (Warmest swimming hole in Springville area)! Finish with an outdoor shower! Venture to the Giant Sequoias or to Lake Success! Lots of opportunities to hike along the river or up a hill for a valley view. Woody can give you locations. In the Bunkhouse we have, Wifi, mini frig, microwave, and crockpot. We offer grandpa and grandma's queen sized bed. We have a beautiful river setting with two dogs that rome the place (Copper and DOG). You really can't go to the river without them getting all excited. Just say SHOO and they leave ya alone OR pet them all day long if ya want. Or just relax in the hammock or the hammock chair and read a book while listening to the sounds of the river. We have seen and you may see, deer, raccoon, skunk, tree squirrels, ground squirrels, bear, bobcat, and a red fox (that lives in the rocks across the river.) (You won't see all these every day of course) Birds - we have scrub jays, robins, hummingbirds, house wren, black headed toehee, Great blue haron, canadian geese, mallard ducks, gold finch, mocking bird, turkey vulture, several types of owls, American dipper, white egret, kingfisher, and the black birds, sparrows, starlings. Oh, and our local wild turkeys. We have more acorn woodpecker in Springville area than anywhere else in the world. If ya want to fish just don't fish while someone is swimming near ya. Insects - think out in the woods and come prepared. With our dogs around, you probably won't see a snake - however, better to be prepared. So, we have walking sticks for you that can aid you if you run across one to move it out of the way. Guests have access to the Tule River with a great swimming hole, outdoor fire place, exercise weights, outdoor shower, hiking, and a BBQ. The bunkhouse does have wifi! We only have AT&T for phones that works in Springville. The small quite town of Springville is 1 mile away. Springville is a gateway to the Giant Sequoias and many outdoor recreational opportunities. We have a really nice golf course, River Island, just a few miles away that follows the river. Success Lake is 10 miles from the Bunkhouse with rentals for house boating, kayaking and jet skiing. It is a fishing and swimming lake. Springville has a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Wednesday nights (weather permitting) we have local live music for people in the area at River Ridge and at Frank's (at the Springville Inn) - one mile one way and one mile the other way from us from Springville. Friday nights during the summer months we have live music from all over the valley at the Springville Park Gazebo (Free). In the summer we have open air family movies at the rodeo grounds once a month. And we have the once a year Springville Rodeo, Once a year Springville Apple Fesival, and the once a year Springville Jackass Mail Run. We even have a world renowned resident astronomer that has star parties once a month. Our little town has a great Cowpuncher's Cafe, Wild Oak Coffee House, the Hamburger Stand, two Mexican restaurants, and Franks place at the Springville Inn that all have really good food. Gifford's market is small but is complete in things you may need. They specialize in B-B-Que meats and have a very good meat selection. We used to have a train that came up to Springville but now we have Public Transit (bus) at 9:30am and 3:30pm that can take you to Porterville. We do have the Eagle Feather Casino on the Indian Reservation a few miles down the road. We are just 1 1/2 hours from the 100 Giants hiking trail were there are some of the largest Giant Sequoias to be found. Rock climbers love to climb Dome Rock and the Needles, but without rock climbing you can still enjoy the vistas from Dome Rock and the Needles of the Golden Trout Wilderness. There is kayaking on the Kern River too. Mountain Biking is also a favorite up in this area. We have cross country skiing up by Poderosa and Dome Rock in the Winter months.
