If you like cosy evenings beside an open fire and like to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life, the cottage is a place you can do just that. Ideal retreat for couples, small families, or small groups of friends. The cottage is cosy and compact, retaining original features with beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. The spacious living room has two relaxing sofas arranged around the open fire. Your first supply of fuel provided then remainder available by arrangement with owner. Due to the outage of the local TV mast, Freeview is unable to be viewed until a full fix has been actioned. There is DVD’s available for your use, books to choose from or you are more than welcome to bring your firestick/ chromecast or other type of dongle/tv viewing plug in device. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all your essentials and a Combi Washer/Dryer is available for washing clothes from muddy walks etc. The bathroom is on the groundfloor so is easy to access directly from the kitchen and living room if you’re soaking wet from the great outdoors, here you will find an electric shower over bath, please note the bath is not functionable at present. There is a small boiler for heating enough water for washing hands in the bathroom and dishes in the kitchen sink. Upstairs there is a large family bedroom, with a King Size Bed, 2 x Single beds, a cosy electric stove for winter nights and a combi TV/DVD. Outside is an enclosed multi-tiered garden at the rear of the cottage which is small but private and is for use and only accessible for guests. Within the village is a popular village Inn serving good local produce, the nearest shop is approx 4 miles away where you can stock up on all your essentials. The historic city of Durham, with its magnificent cathedral and river boat trips; the market town of Barnard Castle, with its 12th-century castle, and medieval Raby Castle are all just a short drive away.
