Wake up to birds singing a rooster crowing. Enjoy Sunrise, sunset, birds and wildlife from the porch, deck or inside through large picture windows. Sit back and relax, meditate, renew, pick up a book and read, create, write, paint, unplug. (fast Wi Fi, 32 inch TV and an echo dot) Families and dog owners will like the large yard Invite the neighbor’s dogs over for a friendly play date. My grandmother an artist designed the cottage 1960's. There are many unique family mementos on display. The artists cottage has a wonderful flagstone porch and open deck to enjoy the wonderful outdoors. Enter the main room 12 x 20 with four large picture windows and a fireplace. A sofa bed is placed in front of the fireplace. Two relaxing chairs and several heirloom chairs. The bright updated bathroom has a sliding door, two shower heads and a bidet toilet seat. The beds and kitchen are in the vintage tiny house area. A firm double bed is in an alcove surrounded by pretty mementos above the windows, which are covered with handmade curtains. The windows are unique and may be left open on hot summer days allowing for a breeze. The Galley kitchen leads into the small bedroom with twin bed. The basement door is next to the desk that a great grandfather made. My grandmother designed the space to display her beautiful dishes and collectibles . Door code will be given before arrival. Parking is available in front of the cottage there is room for two cars. Please drive slowly as the neighbors have young children, dogs and chickens. It is ok to take a walk down the road at the end of the property to observe the wildlife and birds. Please be respectful of the land note tick season is here and they are bad so not a good idea to go in the woods. Two other Airbnb are on the street Southern Exposure and Dewey’s house. It is nice to have a family reunion using all three houses. I communicate by text or email most of the time. Nice, quiet yet not totally isolated. Nearby beverage store, car repair restaurant Not necessary to go into Olean unless you want to enjoy a small city. A short three mile drive to Portville drive in movie theater two screens. Kayak launch is a great place to take the dog for a swim, launch your own Kayak 2 hours down the river to Olean and four hours to Allegany NY. Allegheny adventures rents canoes and kayaks. Restaurants Randy's Fireside on Haskell Rd is dog friendly on the covered deck. Four Mile brewery is dog friendly in the outdoor garden. Good food and craft beer around. Sprague's maple restaurant in Portville is a good place to take the kids an adventure. Best hike: Pfeiffer Nature Center Lillibridge Portville -old forest also the best view down Lillbridge Rd. to Wolf Run to Haskell Rd. limited country public transportation. Should have own car. This is a special place and continue to make repairs and improvements. Some things need to be left alone such as not replacing the missing pieces of the original pink plastic tile in the vanity. We would love your input. Note: the local field stones leftovers from the glaciers. Many have fossils. My grandmother and mother were porcelain artists. Their works are on display. Living in a country sometimes little critters get in such as mice and insects. The air conditioner is older and its use is limited. June 2021
