Sunny Side Up

Sunny Side Up is on the second floor of Sunny Side Saloon, a historic building that served as a Union Army Commissary during the Civil War. Later, it was a local watering hole called Sunny Side Saloon, where JH Kearns sold his own pre-prohibition whisky in ceramic jugs. Sunny Side is located in downtown Lebanon in the heart of Kentucky on the historic Bourbon Trail, just steps from restaurants and the farmer’s market (seasonally on Wednesday/Saturday mornings). The second floor of this mid-1800’s building has been converted into a modern, luxury loft. It features marble counter-tops, high-end appliances, and a 70” smart TV in the living room (plus a 56” smart TV in the bedroom). We chose mid-century modern decor and luxurious furnishings that fit the history of the building and the character of its location. Though its design is modern, we retained the original brick walls and exposed the original wood ceiling beams. Sunny Side Up is less than one block from Main Street, Lebanon, Kentucky, and walking distance to several restaurants, cafes, and shops. We have a private parking lot, but free street parking is also available on Martin Luther King. The entrance to the loft is located on the Martin Luther King Street side of the building. You won’t see us unless you need us! If you need us, we can be contacted 24 hours a day through the Airbnb app or the telephone numbers provided. Historic downtown Lebanon has charming buildings, restaurants, and local shops that are all accessible by foot from Sunny Side. Several buildings are adorned with murals that make great photographs and selfies. Lebanon even offers a self-guided mural tour. For those visiting rural Kentucky for the first time, the downtown area is not a 24-hour party scene. It is a quiet destination where shops and restaurants close relatively early. Some are closed on Sundays and Mondays entirely. If you need groceries or a convenience store, you will have to drive (unless you are there when the Farmer’s Marker is open). Our House Manual provides location and contact information for local restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores, etc… We think you will enjoy what Lebanon has to offer, all from the comfort of a unique historic location! Sunny Side Up is located just one block from Main Street in Downtown Lebanon, Kentucky. We have ample on-site, free private parking and free public parking in the center of Martin Luther King Street. Park your car and stroll around Lebanon’s charming downtown area by foot. However, you will need a car to visit distilleries and other Bourbon Trail attractions.
