Hampton Guest House

Please read our entire listing & view all of our photo's before contacting us as this will answer most of your questions & avoid any disappointments. Due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING BOOKINGS ON A CASE-BY-CASE basis. Please reach out to us via the "Contact Host" option and tell us a little about yourself, who will be traveling with you and the reason for your trip so we can make sure we are a good fit for your trip. This is a 750 sq. ft. suite on the 2nd floor of the detached pool house. One bedroom with queen size bed, living room with kitchenette, (no stove or oven but gas grill on the deck) and a luxurious bathroom with walk in shower and dual shower heads. The pull down attic stairs give you access to a quaint loft with a full size mattress that sleeps 2 children, or one adult. (we ask that the children be 10 & older in the loft for safety reasons) If you need more sleeping room, the couch converts into a queen size bed. The deck is a great place to read or enjoy a cup of coffee from the Keureg while you overlook the pool. There also is a propane Blackstone Griddle on the deck available for your use. The HVAC system was recently updated and improved over the summer to provide consistent comfort year round. You will have access to the entire guest house. The private living area is upstairs, with a shared (with hosts) seating area and a small gym (also shared) on the ground level just off of the pool. The infra-red sauna is available for your private use on request during the summer and will be ready at all times during colder months. The salt water pool stays open year-round and warms up enough to swim usually in mid-to-late May, but we DO NOT HEAT THE POOL and cannot guarantee what temperature the water will be during your visit. There is an additional half-bath on the lower level near the pool. In addition to our pets, we have a small urban farm of rescued animals including chickens, goats, a mini-horse and donkey. (we even rescued a dog while vacationing in the mountains last year! Who does that?) Wake up to the sounds of the barnyard! If you'd like to feed the animals, let us know and we will provide some "treats" you can share with them! We will be available as much or as little as guests would like, but we do want to at least meet everyone who stays with us. While we really enjoy our outdoor space and must have access to our small farm, we will try to provide you with as much privacy as we can within reason and upon request. (again, we enjoy our backyard too, and at this price-point we are unwilling to completely give up one of the most enjoyable parts of our home - the backyard) This is easier to accomplish if you would kindly let us know if you plan to be away from the guesthouse for an extended period of time. We can schedule our yard work or time relaxing by the pool while you are gone. Please let us know if this is a concern. Hampton is a very small town, and is listed as one of the safest cities in Georgia. It is a quiet town 35 miles south of Atlanta. Occasionally, "The Walking Dead" films in Hampton and have even set up their base-camp across the street from us! Hampton recently began offering TWD tours. We are about 1.5 miles from the Atlanta Motor Speedway, so anything from Friday Night Drags, Thursday Thunder Legends Series or any of the many NASCAR Racing Experiences are just minutes away. We are approximately 20 miles from the "Porsche Experience" at the Porsche plant in Hapeville. Many find this to be a great stop off traveling to or from Florida as we are just under 6 miles off of I-75. We are a "distant suburb" of Atlanta. If you are coming to the area to enjoy Atlanta, please research the time & distance you will be traveling to reach the places you plan on visiting in Atlanta PRIOR TO BOOKING with us. For many, we are the perfect distance from Atlanta: close enough to get there in a reasonable amount of time but far enough away to avoid the challenges of a big city. For others, the drive in is more than they wanted and the end result is we get a bad "location" review. Please look at the map and understand where we are in relation to where you want to spend your time before you book as to avoid getting here and being disappointed. While we do not live in a subdivision and our home is located on 5 acres, we do have neighbors nearby. There is no public transportation available but Uber and Lyft both service our area. A word about EVENTS! We do not host any events, parties, get togethers, kick-backs or gatherings of any kind.
