Merlin's Cabin is a secluded cabin hidden away in its own paddock, ideal for families. It is detached and set apart from the other cottages on the site and has a rustic feel with its own paddock where the horses used to roam. Outside there is a veranda where guests can enjoy a glass of wine, or a spot of lunch under the welcome shade of crab apple tree, whilst watching the birds nest and squirrels scamper about. It's a secluded therefore private cottage which enables one to easily forget the stresses of modern living. Surrounded by trees and hedges, the only thing to disturb you is the sound of birdsong. There is a shared Hot Tub available for use with the other 3 cottages which is usually on a first come first served basis, however we do allow bookings to ensure you can have use of it. It also sports one of the best views of the estuary! so make sure you bring your bathers! It can accommodate up to 4 people and has a fresh and spacious feel to it. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom. The French doors open out onto the secluded patio, which is a great location for breakfast. The 2nd bedroom has bunkbeds which are perfect for accommodating kids of all ages. There is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area and a separate bathroom. It’s perfect for young families or couples wanting privacy, tranquillity and proximity to nature. Despite being close to the village it feels incredibly secluded and is reminiscent of a retreat. It’s a perfect escape. The cabin has a spacious living area. It’s light and airy. There are 2 double sofas positioned around a large coffee table. One of the sofas converts into a double sofa bed. The dining table can seat 6 and there is outdoor dining options as well. The cabin is also pet friendly and in addition to this has a shared hot tub available for use with the other 3 cottages. The Cabin is hidden away and therefore the grounds are special. There is a large crab apple tree at the front which is an ideal location to have lunch or dinner in the shade, whilst avoiding the sun. The private patio at the back is great in the evenings and a lovely place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, listen to the birds and watch the horses in the fields next you. It faces south-west and therefore captures the warmth of the evening sun perfectly. As the temperature drops why not light up the log fire for a little extra warmth as the sun sets. Blaen Cedi Farm is set above the famous village of Penclawdd, which is situated in beautiful North Gower coast, with its extensive salt marshes and dunes. The cottages are nestled in amongst green farmland, woodland and fields, and offer delightful views of the Lougher Estuary and Llanrhidian Marshes. Many of our guests return time and time again to savour the peace, tranquility and nature that makes Blaen Cedi so appealing. We are pleasantly secluded, but not remote and it is a perfect base to explore the famous Gower beaches (some carry awards for beauty and cleanliness), Cefn Bryn, famous for Arthurs’s Stone and it’s picturesque hikes, Mumbles or the bustling cities of Swansea and Llanelli, packed with culture and of course shopping. The Welsh Coastal path is easily accessed from the village providing a gateway to the North Gower. There are extensive hiking and cycling routes at your fingertips. For those with more time, our position on North Gower also means that there is also easy access to the delights of Pembrokeshire.
