For you 4-wheelers it’s 10.2 miles by way of Polk county road 42 to get to Wolf Pen Gap 4-wheeler trail, turn right out of drive, No need to even get on Hwy 71! Go the other direction and explore back roads and historical bridges and Camp Pioneer and creek. Two miles/ two minutes to Iron Moutain CMA, less than five minutes to Mena city limits.... There is room in pull in garage to unload a wheelchair and also a wheelchair ramp into the house. A wheelchair available for in-house use. Bathroom has room for wheelchair and has a step-in shower with bench seat; has a full tub with hand held shower head/sprayer and ‘shower seat’ available. Handicap toilet and handicap handrails by the commode and shower. Utility room (entered from garage )makes the perfect location to get out of dirty clothes from a day of 4-wheeling. Full size washer and dryer available and even a utility sink for convenience. Closet to hang clothes, coats etc. Large living room with queen size sofa and full size futon. Open to kitchen makes for a family friendly stay. Full size futon has an ‘old fashioned ‘ cotton mattress., super comfortable. There’s a place to put your suitcase, no need to kneel on the floor. T V with DVD player and some movies. Cell phone reception has always been good and you can use your phone to connect to the tv. Bedroom has queen size bed, and the room has plenty of space to spread out in. There is a dresser to put suitcase on to make it convenient for guest. Antique dresser for brushes, makeup etc. Spacious, family friendly kitchen with table that will seat 6 ( or more if needed ) and a snack bar with two stools. Open to living room so conversations and plans can be continued. All appliances needed to cook a meal, make coffee. etc We provide all the plates, silverware, cooking items. A beginning supply of soap ( essential oil soap) and paper towels. We are a dry county so you need to bring your favorite drinks. Front porch with gliders that are made for taking naps, rocking chairs encourage conversations and even just relaxing...Porch perfect for morning coffee, afternoon naps and listening to crickets and tree frogs.... We are two hours away from three bigger cities...Fort Smith to the North, Hot Springs to the East and Texarkana to the South. The ‘Front Porch Retreat’ makes a great base for day trips and then come home to rest up!
