Region: Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area. Town: Fulready, Warwickshire is a short drive from the thriving village of Ettington. It has a lovely village pub serving wonderful home-cooked food as well as a village shop/Post Office, well stocked with local fresh produce. The village is recognised as both a Saxon and Roman settlement; the Fosse Way Roman road is close by, and many buildings date back to the 17th century. Ettington is just 6.5 miles south of the market town Stratford-upon-Avon, which dates back to medieval times, and is the home of William Shakespeare. The town boasts many historic buildings including Shakespeare's birthplace and Anne Hathaway's cottage, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, many traditional pubs, excellent restaurants and individual shops, as well as boat hire and cruises along the River Avon.
