Derwent Garden Estate can sleep 18 people, and has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. This dog-friendly luxury self catering accommodation is ideal for families or anyone wishing to visit this beautiful peaceful part of the National Park. Situated at the end of a mile long private drive with its own 6 acre private landscaped gardens, the Estate allows guests to truly relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings. Derwent is a historic building, its gardens sit on the border of the Lake District National Park with a prime position on a south-facing hillside with panoramic views of Skiddaw, Grassmoor and the Lorton and Buttermere Valleys. *Please note the changeover days: week-long bookings must begin on Fridays, 3-night short stay bookings must also begin on a Friday and 4-night bookings are only available during the week and must begin on a Monday. Ground Floor Derwent’s conservatory is the ideal place to sit and look at the beautiful Lake District landscape and impressive Estate Gardens below. The conservatory leads into large open plan sitting/dining room, also benefiting from the magnificent views of the mountains. Surrounding the wood burning stove are big comfortable sofas and a coffee table hosting a selection of reading material. Dining Room: bespoke oak dining table seats 18; State of the art Sonos music system installed, controlled from any android/smart phone. Open plan of this impressive room means it is perfect for large gatherings. All beautiful wooden furniture has been made by local craftsmen using local wood and even Estate's very own gardens. Sliding glass doors divide the sitting/dining room from the expansive kitchen giving you the option of keeping the kitchen separate – a useful feature if you are using caterers. Kitchen: electric fire oven Aga, a large American fridge/ freezer, a Quooker boiling hot water tap, a double Belfast sink, two dishwashers, a microwave and toaster. Are large French doors which open up into a large kitchen garden which guests are invited to help themselves to. Also a gas BBQ and outdoor dining area so on finer evenings you can enjoy eating outside whilst admiring the views that surround the Estate. From the sitting/dining room you go through the to a spacious hallway where there is a cloakroom just under the stairs. Large informal TV room: upright piano, cosy wood burning stove, 40 inch flatscreen TV with Sky channels and a DVD player, large comfortable sofas and wide selection of DVDs. Also, a 7ft pool table as well as a selection of board games and a large bookshelf containing books of all genres. Boot room: plenty of storage for boots and coats and a utility room with sink, separate washing machine and tumble drier. First Floor 8 bedrooms: 5 double, 3 twin 7 bathrooms (4 ensuite). Bedrooms: stunning views of the Lake District. Includes: dressing gowns, hairdryers and stocked with locally produced organic toiletries. Master bedroom: can admire the beautiful landscape from the freestanding copper bath in the bedroom, bedroom has Bose iPod speakers and its own private spacious balcony. Use of wireless high speed fibre optic broadband internet included and available throughout the main house and The Coach House. Children Estate provides two cots, one highchair, a Bumbo seat, a collapsible pram (suitable from birth onward) and an Avent microwave bottle steriliser. TV room: large box of children’s toys and books. Outside: playground in the back orchard comprising of a slide, swing, double swing and climbing rope. Can also recommend a local babysitter if you would like an evening out. Dogs The Estate is dog friendly - limited to two dogs per booking and no dogs allowed in the bedrooms. The Coach House A stunning redevelopment Double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, large sitting room with high ceilings and a woodburning stove. Also, a TV with freeview channels, WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Own terrace with wonderful views of the surrounding area. Coach House is short 50 metre walk down a gravel path from the Main House. Gardens Will have full reign of the staggering 6 acre gardens. The gardens are very beautiful and large enough you can feel completely immersed when you explore them. Many vantage points which give you different views of the Lake District and the River Derwent below. 2 stone summerhouses: can enjoy an evening tipple overlooking the beautiful view. Stone BBQ and outside dining area. Croquet and boules available Large front lawn is perfect for any outdoor games.
