Moonfleet is a traditional terraced holiday cottage situated in the centre of Haverigg, a small fishing village close to the Lakeland Fells. The village is built around a small attractive harbour and has a post office, grocery store, chip shop, two pubs and a beach café supermarket and other shops, restaurants, cafes, take-aways, chemist and GP surgery are located in Millom which is only two miles away. Amenities for those wanting an active holiday are a short drive from the village and include golf, horse riding and water sports, as well as Wakestation (artificial wake boarding) on the lagoon. Haverigg is not far from Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere where you will find yourself in the heart of Beatrix Potter’s Lake District. Heading north will bring you to Muncaster Castle at Ravenglass, where you can visit the famous Bird of Prey Centre or take the L’al Ratty steam train up to picturesque Eskdale. Moonfleet has been redecorated with a coastal theme throughout and will suit those wanting a quiet away from it all break. The cottage is a few minutes’ walk from 12 miles of unspoilt sandy beach and sand dunes, which in summer are covered in wild flowers including harebells and orchids.
