South Dairy Old Chapel is a pretty Grade 2 building, conveniently positioned in the heart of Pembrokeshire. We have sympathetically restored it to a high standards providing a spacious, open plan living with three double, en-suite bedrooms. The original chapel now provides a cosy, open plan living area with a slate floor and underground heating. The modern kitchen is well equipped with a Rangemaster duel fuel cooker, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge freezer and cooking utensils. The living area is set around a large wood burner, with comfortable sofas and smart TVS with Netflix for those relaxing moments. We will supply a generous quantity of logs for your stay. In the dining area, original pews provide seating around a large handmade oak dining table. There is a radio/Bluetooth speaker to listen to a choice of music as well as the chapel’s original foot powered organ. We believe that it provides an ideal place for relaxing, cooking a special meal or coming home to after a day exploring. We provide a selection of games and guides to the local area. There are two double en-suite bedrooms upstairs. These bedrooms are set either side of the chapel divided by a middle gallery. We have retained this in its original form and you can sit here and look out of large windows onto open countryside. The third en-suite bedroom is on the ground floor in the chapel’s old vestry. This has two single beds and slate flooring with underfloor heating. All beds are supplied with crisp linen and warm woollen blankets for those chilly evenings. All en-suites are fitted with showers. There is a separate entrance to the chapel into a large utility room which is fitted with a Belfast sink, washing machine, ironing board and is an ideal area to store your outdoor clothing etc. There is also an additional toilet opening into this room. Outside, there is a gravelled area with a bench where you can relax and enjoy a drink after a day of activities or relaxing by the coast. Visitors should note that access to the chapel is by foot from the private car park or via the main front gate and whilst it is flat, it is some 70 m to the chapel’s front door. The graveyard is still part of the community and is visited by relatives on occasions. Guests are asked to respect this area. Due to the fact that we have a first floor gallery and a number of large gravestones in the graveyard we do not believe that the chapel is suitable for children under 14 years of age. We are happy to discuss the issue with you if you require further clarification. We welcome owners with one large dog or two small, well behaved dogs. We can provide a dog basket and bowls. The chapel is down a quiet country lane with no immediate neighbours and there are lovely walks from the gate or a short drive away. There is ample area for dogs within the grounds but it is not dog secure. There is an outside tap for washing dirty dogs. Due to the graveyard, we ask owners to be respectful of the graves and to strictly ensure that they clean up after their dogs and to use the bin provided for waste. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, on beds or furniture and must not be left unattended at anytime. There will be a charge of £25 to cover additional cleaning costs. The county town of Haverfordwest is just 5 minutes by car with its picturesque riverside setting and Castle ruins. It offers a range of good shopping (including a farmers market on a Friday), a cinema, swimming pool and railway and bus stations. The central location enables easy access for exploring the sights and enjoying activities of Pembrokeshire. From the old chapel there are walks and good cycle routes on quiet lanes to all parts of the county. The gardens of Picton Castle are 5 minutes away, with a small zoo and a highly recommended restaurant.
