Up to 7 guests. 5 mins off M6 Jn41 in a beautiful, tranquil setting with its own enclosed garden/patio and parking for 3 cars. 10 mins from Lakes National Park Large lounge/dining room with wood burner and separate lounge/playroom for kids. Great walks and cycle rides from the door and a short walk to the excellent Sun Inn riverside pub. Downstairs there is a large, cosy lounge/dining room with wood burner and TV, a laundry/utility, small conservatory/"dog bedroom" and recently updated kitchen with new oven, microwave and washing m/c. Also the "Studio" which is a great kids playroom with stereo music center and wide screen TV/DVD player/selection of movies and toilet. Upstairs there are three large bedrooms, the very spacious master with new en-suite and oak King size bed, the second bedroom has a double bed and en-suite and both have great views out to the hills. The third bedroom has a double and a movable single bed, making it ideal either for couples or kids who prefer to sleep in separate beds. It is serviced by the new family bath/shower room with toilet. All bedrooms overlook the elevated garden and patio. Townend is located in Laithes, just 10 minutes drive from the Lake District National Park, 5 minutes from historic Greystoke Castle (Tarzan fame etc), 10 minutes from the market town of Penrith and 20 minutes from Keswick, the tourism centre of the Northern Lakes. This is an excellent base for walks and cycle rides (it is on the Coast to Coast route) and to explore the Ullswater/Derwentwater/Bassenthwaite lakes and hills area and some of the quieter corners of the Lake District. Townend is on the edge of the small, picturesque village of Laithes (previous "Best Kept Small Village" award winner) on the banks of the river Peterill. It has a kids playground and an excellent pub (The Sun Inn) within 15 mins walking distance, and the larger villages of Skelton, Blencow and Greystoke within 3 miles. Cleaning includes freshly washed and sterilised bed linen and towels. Bathroom toiletries and laundry/cleaning materials are provided.
