Dilston is ideally located in the picturesque fishing town of Amble in the heart of the stunning Northumberland coastline. Known as 'the friendliest port' Amble is an ideal holiday destination all year round. We are spoilt with mile upon mile of golden sands and an abundance of stunning castles dotted along the coast. Amble boasts a busy marina with 15 boutique pods offering local produce, crafts and gifts. It is also home to some fantastic restaurants and traditional pubs serving local produce, including fresh seafood which comes into the harbour daily. Dilston is a luxury holiday home, recently refurbished to the highest specification. You can expect some unique style and décor, with everything provided to ensure a Comfy-stay. With intimate local knowledge of the area we’re more than happy to offer advice on day trips, restaurants, walks and activities during your stay. Amble really is the perfect base to explore all that Northumberland has to offer; the historic towns of Alnmouth, Warkworth, Berwick and Alnwick are all easily accessible. There are countless trails for walking and cycling, or try your hand at a number of water sports at the picturesque Druridge Bay. Trips to Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Craster are also highly recommended. The Northumberland coast is home to an array of wildlife. You can take a boat trip from Amble to Coquet Island, or from Seahouses to the Farne Islands where there are thousands of nesting birds including puffins and kittiwakes, as well as a colony of over 600 grey seals. There are often sightings of dolphins off of the coast and we were recently treated to a rare visit by a walrus. Newcastle city centre, the Metro Centre and Edinburgh are all easily accessible within the hour by either road or train.
