Le Roquefort - Charming gite in rural France
La Vieille Fromagerie is a complex of three gites, each named after a cheese as they were converted from an old cheese creamery. The gite is self contained with a downstairs open plan living/dining/kitchen and its own private outside area. All guests also have access to the shared, heated outdoor pool (open June-September), boules court, gym, secure childrens play area and games room including table tennis & air hocky. Bikes are available and included to tour the local area. Le Roquefort second largest of the three gites sleeps up to four adults. It has two bedrooms, one double and one twin room both with en-suite. Plenty of period features on show from the beams in the bedrooms to the original stone walls. Guests have full access to all of the shared facilities on site, including the pool, gym, games room, boules court, children’s playground (including trampoline, climbing frame, swings, log walk, badminton net, football goals, slide and sandpit) table tennis, air hockey, outdoor chess set, DVD and games Library. These facilities are shared between our three gites on the complex. We are a small family run complex consisting of 3 gites with a separate owners house. In total there are five of us over 3 generations so there will always be someone on site to help with any queries you may have to help make your holiday as special as possible. You will find us working on the grounds, cleaning communal areas and opening and closing the pool daily. Vienne is one of the sunniest areas of France without the extreme heat of the south. We are only 1.5hours drive from the coast, 40m drive from the airport of Poitiers and have plenty to see and do for families nearby. There is a small but well stocked shop a ten walk away for fresh bread and croissants. Bars and restaurants to be found within the local town of Couhe. The famous Futuroscope and Valley of the Monkeys are all within easy reach.
