La nostra casa è situata nel borgo di Montemarcello, nucleo abitato di antiche origini collocato sul promontorio che domina il golfo della Spezia e la vallata del Magra, inserito dal 2001 tra i “Borghi più Belli d’Italia”- Codice Regionale CITRA: 011001-LT-0081 Our house is situated in the village of Montemarcello, settlement of ancient origin situated on a promontory overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia and the Magra Valley, entered from 2001 in the “Club of the most beautiful villages in Italy”. La casa, recentemente ristrutturata (2017), è composta da un livello rialzato con la zona giorno (cucina arredata completa di lavastoviglie, locale pranzo/soggiorno con TV, ampio bagno con doccia) e da un livello superiore con la zona notte (camera con letto matrimoniale ed eventuale letto bimbo, cameretta con due letti singoli) ed una graziosa terrazza (con tavolino e sedie) che affaccia sulla piazzetta. The house, recently renovated (2017), consists of a raised level with the living area (kitchen equipped with dishwasher, dining/living room with TV, large bathroom with shower), a higher level with the sleeping area (bedroom with double bed and baby bed, bedroom with two single beds) and a lovely terrace (with table and chairs) overlooking the little square. La posizione del paese, immerso nella quiete e con un clima mite per molta parte dell’anno, consente al turista di trascorrere una vacanza in pieno relax offrendo anche la possibilità di effettuare passeggiate ed escursioni sui sentieri del Parco Regionale Montemarcello/Magra dai quali è possibile ammirare, soprattutto nelle limpide giornate, incantevoli panorami e splendidi tramonti. Per quanti desiderano visitare luoghi caratteristici vi è solo l’imbarazzo della scelta: il comune capoluogo della Spezia (con i suoi Musei Civici ed i giardini storici ottocenteschi), la Città di Sarzana (con il centro storico, la fortezza Firmafede, la Soffitta nella Strada ed il Festival della Mente), la Città di Lerici (con la passeggiata a mare, il Castello ed i negozi) ed il paese di Portovenere (con il Castello e la chiesa di San Pietro, la grotta Byron e l’isola Palmaria, i “carugi” e le piccole botteghe). Da non perdere una visita alle vicine Cinque Terre (Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità UNESCO), con i borghi di Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza e Monterosso, raggiungibili in auto, in treno e dal mare con i battelli. Consigliata una tappa anche nella Valle del Vara (valle del biologico) con i piccoli borghi arroccati sulle alture boscose, i castelli, le pievi e i santuari, oppure nella Valle del Magra con il sito archeologico dell’antica Luni e la via Francigena. In poco più di un’ora è inoltre possibile raggiungere le vicine città d’arte di Pisa con la piazza del Duomo e la torre pendente, Lucca con la cinta muraria e le “cento chiese”, Firenze con i musei e Siena, famosa anche per il “palio delle Contrade”. Per gli amanti del mare merita una visita la bellissima spiaggia di ciottoli di Punta Corvo, raggiungibile a piedi con un sentiero a gradini oppure con il servizio di battelli che partono dalla vicina Bocca di Magra. Chi preferisce le spiagge di sabbia può scegliere quelle della Venere Azzurra e della Baia Blu (sul versante di Lerici) o quelle di Fiumaretta e Marinella (sul versante del Magra), tutte raggiungibili in circa quindici minuti d’auto. Casa Camilla is located in a very tranquil part of the town, the area boasts a mild climate year round, allowing tourists to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities including hiking to the nearby natural park “Montemarcello/Magra”, which can be admired from a far on clear days. Evening sunsets are a thing of beauty and not to be missed. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas, if just to relax or for adventure seekers, you will not be disappointed. La Spezia, just a short ride away is rich with military history that has many sites to visit. Explore one of Italy’s largest navel ports, La Spezia also has along with its Museums, a 19th century historic botanical garden. The town of Sarzana a short ride away, has a fortress called “Firmafede” also a historic festival called “Festival del Mente”. Lerici a very beautiful picturesque town that has a promenade that you can enjoy a long walk along and take in all the sights and sounds. The village of “Portovenere” also boasting its own castle and church of “San Pietro” where you can sight see and get a glimpse of the beautiful coastline. The “Byron Cave” and the Island of “Palmaria” rich with shops and restaurants showing off some of the best local cuisine. An absolute must do is to visit the world famous “Cinque Terre” translated “Five Lands” the five villages are, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Our recommendation is to take the train and get off at each stop to explore each town of its unique offerings. You can also reach Le Cinque Terre by car or even by boat. Another recommendation is to stop off at the town of “Val di Vara” (Organic Valley) this small village that is nestled in wooded heights. The Magra valley with its rich archaeological history and the site of the ancient Luni and Via Francigena. Within an hour drive you can find yourself in historic “Pisa” where in “Piazza del Duomo” the leaning tower can be admired. Lucca with its hundred churches, Florence with its museums and Siena that is famous for “Il Palio della Contrade”. For beach lovers, there are different types of beaches from the beautiful pebble beaches that can be found at “Punta Corvo” reachable by a path after docking by boat, that can be found departing hourly from the nearby village of “Bocca di Magra”. For those who prefer sandy beaches, your choices are “Venere Azzura” or “Bia Blu” that are located near Lerici or “Fiumaretta” and “Marinella” all reachable in about 15 minutes by car. Agli ingressi del paese sono disponibili due ampi parcheggi pubblici gratuiti ed il capolinea delle linee autobus che raggiungono La Spezia, Lerici, Ameglia, Bocca di Magra e Sarzana. Nel paese potete trovare un alimentari/ortofrutta (aperto tutte le mattine), un mercato settimanale (mercoledì), due bar, due piccoli ristoranti, una pizzeria ed un ufficio postale. A 10 minuti in auto, nella vicina Ameglia, ulteriori esercizi commerciali, supermercato e farmacia. At the entrances of the village there are two free pubblic parking and the terminus of bus lines that reach La Spezia, Lerici, Ameglia, Bocca di Magra and Sarzana. In the village you can find a grocery/fruits and vegetables (open every morning), a weekly market (wednesday), two bars, two restaurants, a pizzeria and a post office. In 10 minutes by car, in nearby Ameglia, additional shops, supermarket and pharmacy.
