Honeysuckle Cottage is located in Whitmore Vale, Hindhead, part of the beautiful Surrey Hills - deemed an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". Many walking trails and beautiful vistas are within walking distance of the Cottage. Our favourites are a 30 minute circular walk through the local National Trust hillside opposite – also home to two resident and lovingly cared for horses - and another circular walk around the Devil’s Punch Bowl (National Trust), which is about a 5 minutes’ drive away. The house is walkable to three villages - Grayshott, Churt and Beacon Hill, which have everything you need. The award winning village of Grayshott is the largest village and nestles amidst beautiful National Trust countryside on the North-East Hampshire/Surrey border. Grayshott has a traditional village pub, very pretty church, working pottery, several cafes, boutique wine shop, 2 grocery stores, various local shops and restaurants, free parking, and plenty of interesting things to see and do. You can walk about half-way to Grayshott on woodland trails, and then the other half via Whitmore Vale Road, which is not very busy but is very dark in the evening so get home before sundown! It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Grayshott. We usually do a local walk, park at the pub for lunch, walk home (downhill!) and then collect the car the next day. Churt is a lovely village with a village shop, pub and Indian restaurant. It is walkable from the house – approximately 15 minutes. Beacon Hill is also walkable – approximately 15 minutes - uphill through the woodland (!) and has a village store, a few independent shops, a Italian restaurant and Dominos pizzeria. Approximately 10 minutes’ drive away is the quaint and charming historic market town of Haslemere which is steeped in history. It has many more shops and restaurants and from here you can catch the train to London Waterloo with a direct journey time of approximately 50 minutes. Farnham is about 8 miles, or 20 minutes’ drive away . Farnham is known for its Georgian streets, historic buildings and craft heritage, with easy access to the rural North Downs Way. It also has lots of shops and restaurants to explore. Honeysuckle Cottage is also approximately 17 miles southwest of historic and scenic Guildford, just off the A3 (on the south side of the Hindhead Tunnel), or approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Guildford. In Guildford, there are many shops and amenities, including theatre, cinema, many restaurants, coffee shops, various grocery stores and many high street and independent shops. Its cobblestone streets, riverside location and fine views make it a much sought after shopping, dining and recreation destination. Towels and linens are included. For longer stays, interim cleaning be arranged at a cost of approximately £150. In addition, special rates apply for longer term rentals. Please note that whilst we welcome and encourage gatherings of friends and family, parties are not permitted and the lead guest on all bookings must be over 25 years old.
