This is a true log cabin in the woods adjoining 9,000 acres of Chattahoochee National Forest. The home is on the side of Taylor's Ridge with private trails to the top of the mountain. There is a large stone fireplace in the den. Though it is a rustic setting we have great WIFI and streaming 4K HDR TV. We have space and facilities for horse and pet owners. Dalton, GA and Chattanooga, TN are nearby and great day time destinations. Log cabin completely secluded on 30 private acres. Has private hiking trail on the property that leads to National Forest trails. Horses and pets welcome. Close to Cloudland Canyon, Pigeon Mountain, and Keown Falls. Easy day trips to Chickamauga National Battle Field, Chattanooga, Dalton and Rome. Our driveway is the old road between LaFayette and Resaca. On May 7, (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , around noon, General McPherson marched 25,000 calvary and more support troops down this driveway. During your visit try to imagine that procession of men, horses and materials. We have an area for horses but you must provide your own horse panels. Forested trails to ride horses on property. Seven miles from the Pinhoti horse and foot trail. Also several other horse trails in the area. Entire cabin. Also, please feel free to explore the 30 acres surrounding the cabin including the basketball court, the outdoor fire pit, the small creek, and the trails that lead to other trails. My name is Gail. I lived in the cabin for 17 years while working in Dalton. I loved the woods and being secluded. I enjoyed the old road/ trail that goes through the property and into the 9,000 acre Chattahoochee National forest. I hiked to the top of Taylor's Ridge regularly. We have recently renovated this cabin to enjoy ourselves and to rent. Once you are in the cabin you can access the WIFI using the codes on the side of the modem on the desk in the den (WIN_ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) hk) for you phone and streaming TV. There is no public transportation to this home. The private driveway is long (1/4 mile+) with plenty of places to park along the driveway. Regarding pets we have We may seem secluded but we are right on a state highway (S.R. 136) only 15 min from downtown Lafayette, 20 min. from downtown Dalton, 20 min. to Chickamauga Battlefield, 30 min to Cloudland Canyon, 40 min to downtown Chattanooga and minutes to the Pinhoti trail and Keown Falls.
