Bikes, kayaks (rate sheet for kayaks is in house manual), paddleboards and snowshoes, according to the season, are available by arrangement with the hosts. We have passes for the lovely private beach at beautiful Queechy Lake, for summer swimming. This is a natural spring fed lake and is rated one of the cleanest in NYS. The house is stocked with many wonderful games, books and movies. There is Fiber optic high speed internet service (1G) download speed and there are three large screen Roku TVs offering streaming Netflix, HBO, Showtime and other popular entertainment and news channels. With a cell tower less than a mile away, phone and data service is very good with AT&T & Verizon. We maintain trails on both properties (12 acres total), offering country strolls and mountain biking, or XC skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Our neighboring network of dirt roads also offers biking and hiking opportunities. Close to all the wonderful places of interest and cultural activities of the Berkshires and Hudson Valley. A short drive from Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Co, Kripalu, The Mount, Hancock Shaker Village, Jiminy Peak, Catamount, Bousquet, etc. Terry and I have owned the adjoining property for many years and, now semi-retired, enjoy living in this beautiful area mostly full time. We are normally available to answer questions and offer recommendations and advice on the many local attractions and eating places available in the region. Our two properties were, for many generations, one working farm. So, when we had the opportunity to acquire the sadly declining Knoll Rock, we enthusiastically jumped at it. After more than two years of considerable toil, stress and expense, we are delighted with the outcome and keen to share this beautiful and fascinating home with guests. Work was completed earlier this year and we've had guests renting for the entire summer season. They have had nothing but wonderful things to say about Knoll Rock, so we are now feeling very confident about making our lovely home available on AirBnB! Knoll Rock is located on a quiet dirt road nestled in the Berkshire foothills. We are less than a mile from the Ma. border. The dirt road that Knoll Rock sits on is a lovely 4 1/2 mile loop that takes you from NY into Ma. You will need a car to access all the wonderful local cultural attractions, beautiful hiking trails, farm to table dining, craft breweries and local wineries. On extended stays (30 days or more) bi-monthly cleaning is required at an additional charge to guest. The house has its own dedicated fiber optic connection which delivers (1G) of download speed. Excellent cell service with AT & T and Verizon...others not as reliable. Well behaved/supervised children welcome. We do not recommend Knoll Rock for toddlers (11/2-4} as their are no safety guards on the staircases nor can anything be attached to the interior walls or beams. No high chairs can be attached to the granite counter tops. Children (5-12) must be under adult supervision at all times. Maps of area hiking trails, kayaking and biking available in house.
