Double Room- Thornton House Bed and Breakfast

The historic Thornton House operated as a Doctor’s residence and office for over 100 years and has been a Bed and Breakfast for over 16 years offering private bathrooms, spacious rooms with guest climate controls and a full breakfast every morning in a relaxing, historical setting unique to Lansing. The Thornton House is both quiet and relaxing yet close enough to walk to restaurants yet far enough from the river front Iowa Chicago and Eastern train tracks to allow a restful nights sleep. The Double Room offers two bedrooms with a privacy door in between the two rooms and a bathroom with shower as well as a washer and dryer for guest use. You can access the bathroom either through the other bedroom in the suite or via the hallway. A full breakfast consisting of a main dish and either baked ham or sausage, 2 types of fruit, along with pastries and breads with coffee, tea or juice is served daily between 8am and 9:30 am (guests choice) downstairs in the dining room. Guests have access to the landscaped gardens, lower Veranda as well as an upstairs porch overlooking a garden with fountain. Guests can also use the kitchen refrigerator, microwave and also have beverage access. Innkeeper is on premises and can help with internet access or other questions regarding dining and things to see in the area as well as the history of Thornton House. The neighborhood is quiet, walkable and friendly. Our location facilitates an easy five minute walk to downtown shops and restaurants.
