Panchita Rural Cottage

The Casa Rural Panchita owes its name to its last inhabitant, a renowned and famous artisan of sheep's wool, with which she made some mops that still shelter the beds of many garafianos. This small and cozy house, with more than one hundred years old, has been rehabilitated preserving and respecting the structure, shape and size that it presented from its origins, hence, as soon as we arrive, we are struck by its entrance with two large stones , its humble but magnificent roof and especially the floor of "tea", extracted with hand saws from the heart of the Canarian Pine. This rural house is located in a coastal area, where the climate is milder, nestled within the Cueva de Agua neighborhood, surrounded by almond trees that in the flowering months give the environment a unique environment, less than 50 meters from a pastry craftswoman, who still keeps her wood oven running. The Rural House Panchita, oriented to the west, takes care in its construction the integration to the landscape and the maximum use of hours of sun. From the house and its patios you can enjoy splendid sunsets, which in this part of the west of the Canary archipelago are unforgettable, being ideal for couples looking for a different holiday than usual, in a rustic and cozy atmosphere. The Panchita Rural House is located in the Villa de Garafía, municipality that lends its name to a new planet called “Garafía” (discovered in 2006 from the Observatory of Roque de Los Muchachos); on the island of La Palma (a place that by its grateful nature has allowed it to be declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO). Casa Panchita is located within the Cueva de Agua neighborhood, 524m high, at the foot of the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (where one of the most complete telescope batteries in the world is located on the edge of the Caldera National Park of Taburiente, at 2,400 m. Of altitude). This rural house is located a few kilometers from the Park of Leisure and Nature of San Antonio del Monte, from which a large number of trails and routes depart that will make any traveler enjoy.
