70s Modern Home in the Woods -- with Hot Tub

Bright and spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, NEW hot tub (March 2021) , 5 private acres. 20 minutes to Catamount Ski Area. 20 minutes to Hudson. *NOTE: Summer bookings must both begin and end on Fridays. Airbnb only allows users to specify a check in day, not check out day.* Large 70s modern home. Recently renovated and expanded, bright and spacious 4 bed, 2 bath, secluded house in the woods. Only a 20 minute drive to the newly renovated Catamount ski mountain. Our stylish, light-filled house is like a cabin in the woods, but bigger, with plenty of space and lofty ceilings. The house is located on a private gravel dead end road in a lush, quiet wooded setting. There are several stone walls through the trees -- great for exploring. The house has an open floor plan with wood floors throughout. There is a large kitchen and dining area with high ceilings and exposed beams adjoining a living room bathed in natural light and equipped with a wood burning stove, HDTV, record player and albums. Leading from the living room is a large deck with a table, surrounded by trees providing ample shade, perfect for outdoor dining. There is also a hot tub, grill, herb garden and fire pit. The house has skylights throughout. The master bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bathroom with a 6 foot claw foot tub and walls of local pine; there is a private deck attached to this bedroom. Another bedroom has a king bed with a wood burning stove, desk and a private deck. The third bedroom has a bunk bed and queen bed and has toys, games and instruments. The last bedroom has a full bed. The house is perfect for a large group. NOTE: Although the house comfortably sleeps 10, we list the max cap at 8 because we rely on a well. Ten people flushing toilets and taking showers can result in temporary water outages. We ask that guests use water conservatively. If water does run out, just wait an hour or so for the well to replenish. We keep a back up water supply in the laundry room. Amenities include: wifi, Apple TV, Netflix, hot tub, laundry room, dishwasher, microwave, 2 wood burning stoves, BBQ, fire pit and a rope swing. Entire home. We, the owners, will not be present during your stay. We will provide our contact information and any other helpful information to assure that you are comfortable. The Hudson Valley is full of wonderful little towns, we especially love nearby Hudson for its culture and food. We are surrounded by creatives who've fled the chaos of the city looking for a simpler life, as well as salt-of-the earth folks who have been here for generations. We get our garden's compost from a local stable that offers rides for the kids. In the summer we frequent farmer's markets and U-pick farms. During the warmer months we've had fun discovering hiking trails and swim holes. Our kids attended a few of the many summer camps in the area. In the fall we bake a lot of pies, there are orchards everywhere. It is also our favorite time of the year because the colors around our house and the valley are gorgeous! In the winter our oldest daughter learned how to snowboard at the local ski area, Catamount. These are just a few reasons why we like it here, and we think you will agree it's a special place! The house is less than 10 miles from Hudson, an artsy riverside town with over 75 shops to discover, plus galleries, music venues and many cafes and restaurants. Fall is a great time to come during the change of colors, with lots of pick-your-own orchards to choose from. In the warmer months there are dairy farms and fruit stands, berry picking, plus trails and waterfalls and swim holes including the beautiful Lake Taghkanic beach, just a ten minute drive from the house. Catamount Ski Area is a 20 minutes drive and Great Barrington, MA is 30 minutes away. Other places worth seeing are Tanglewood, Chatham, Bash Bish Falls, and the Art Omi Outdoor Sculpture Garden. House relies on well so please conserve water as much as possible to prevent temporary outages.
