Lovely House Just One Off The Beach

Our lovely house is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun, the beach, and being outdoors! Our house has 4 bedrooms downstairs, each with two movable twin platform beds which can be configured as one king, a ceiling fan, and two windows, so they are airy, cool and comfortable. There’s a full bathroom downstairs and an enclosed outdoor shower on the back deck, as well as a huge shed to hold beach chairs, bikes, etc. Upstairs is a living/dining area, kitchen and a half bath. The upstairs deck, overlooking the ocean, has a picnic table, a large Weber grill, and several market umbrellas and chairs. The beach is in front of the house next door. The interior is painted white—it’s clean and bright and the floors are new throughout. It is a comfortable, slightly rustic, well-maintained house in the best location with friendly neighbors. The house is high up on the walk so we have virtually no mosquitoes, since there's no stagnant water below. It stays comfortable inside with cross breezes throughout. The house has a washer and dryer in a shed on the back deck, and a galley kitchen with electric range, dishwasher, coffeemaker and microwave oven. In the living area are TV, DVD/VHS player and stereo system with mp3 player, and WiFi. We have beach toys, chairs and umbrellas, four adult beach cruiser bikes with baskets for shopping trips to the store (about a minute’s ride way) and a large red wagon. All linens are included, as well as a Pack ’n Play, two folding bed rails, 2 potty seats, 2 step stools, a booster seat and a clip-on baby seat for the dining table. There's a 3' high railing around both decks. Our upstairs deck is ablaze in color, with planted window boxes, hibiscus, Mandevilla and various other plants (if you look carefully you'll find our basil and other edibles). Arrival time is Monday 10 AM, and the house is yours until 4 PM on Friday. The house cleaner comes at that time and does two loads of laundry in addition to cleaning the house (we ask that you wash sheets in advance of your departure due to time constraints). You're welcome to use the washing machine and dryer, of course, as well as the kitchen staples—our philosophy is "mi casa es su casa" when you’re there. The house is stocked with all necessities except diapers and personal care items. It's all yours! We are always available to answer any questions and resolve any problems that may arise. We won't be there to welcome you in person but we're just a phone call away! Fair Harbor is a wonderful family-oriented community known as “the Barefoot Community.” It’s casual and safe, fun for kids, and has a lovely bay beach at the other end of our walk with lifeguard supervision. The ocean is spectacular, the beach is uncrowded, the “downtown”' is small and friendly. A food store, a general store, restaurant, liquor shop, pizza place and ice cream/candy shop constitute the Central Business District of Fair Harbor, as well as the Firehouse, where there are evening activities during the week. There are plenty of teenagers around for babysitting if you need a break. You can walk to the Lighthouse west of Kismet and climb to the top for spectacular views, watch kid movies on Wednesday night at the Firehouse, play basketball in nearby Saltaire, tennis in Dunewood, take a water taxi to Ocean Beach for a selection of restaurants or go further east to the Sunken Forest for a long hike. The peace and quiet of Fair Harbor are wonderful, making it a great place to just relax with your family. It’s safe for small children to navigate with friends, and neighbors will gladly look after them on the beach if you need to run to the house for a minute. We love Fair Harbor and know you will, too. We're a quick walk from the ferry and "downtown" Fair Harbor, and the beach is in front of the house next to ours. It doesn't get much better! Fair Harbor is easily accessed by LIRR to Bay Shore and a half-hour ferry ride. We have five bikes for getting around Fair Harbor and a wagon to bring your stuff to and from the house and beach.
