Our new off -grid, solar powered modern cottage tucked away in a charming hillside filled with olive groves. Located 2.5 km from the traditional village of Spili, and 40km from the port city Rethymno, its nightlife, restaurants, old city and beach. Built in 2015 our 70 square meter villa is ideal for the traveler who desires a more laid-back, travel environment. Furnished with two outdoor hammocks, a fully equipped kitchen , breath-taking views from every window, our open concept home screams relaxation. Perfectly situated in a quiet location, our contemporary cottage offers two bedrooms , 1.5 baths, three patio spaces, and plenty of on site parking. Our cottage has a very private lot which is 2.5 km from the traditional village of Spili, known for its clean air, flora and mountain scenery. If you desire a night on the town , we are 40 km from the unique port city of Rethymno . Rethymno has preserved its Venetian and Turkish appearance and boasts old world charm and history. The city also has modern attractions such as an inviting nightlife, wonderful restaurants, and close proximity to a long sandy beach. Guests will have use of the entire house and grounds. During your stay there is a house keeper who will greet you and show you around the property. In the event of an emergency he will be the one to contact. Our 16,000 square meter plot ensures total privacy. On occasion, local farmers and shepherds will be seen tending their crops , and grazing their herd. The villa is 2.5 km from the village of Spili where you can find all your needs: supermarkets, coffee shops , restaurants, post, pharmacy, a folk museum and churches. 40 km. to the north, Rethymno offers vibrant tourism an old town, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and beaches. The south shore is just over the costal mountain spine where you can fine some of Crete`s finest underdeveloped beaches, as opposed to the mass tourism found in most of the northern coastline.If you like peace and quite, a place that you can read a book undisturbed, this place is for you! To fully take advantage of what there area has to offer, a car will be needed. We recommend a 4x4 car since there are about 1.5 km of unpaved roads to get to the house. Please take into account that that house relies solely on solar power and sun heated hot water.
