Cuarto Botanica is one of five studios set within the Tiagua81 farmhouse Situated in Tiagua village in the centre of the island, you are away from the resorts but only 10 minutes from Famara beach, Historic Teguise and capital city Arrecife Ideal for those who appreciate the rural side of the Island, Tiagua is the old trade capital of Lanzarote where many properties were farmhouses, shops, markets or traders posts Recently refurbished this studio sits on the road side of this stunning building Sat within a 200 year old trading house, Cuarto Botanica has been recently renovated for holiday lets Guests have exclusive use of the apartment space, kitchen area, bathroom, bedroom and lounge plus shared use of the communal areas like the patio, garden and swimming pool Guests have access to the farmhouse communal areas, the Patio and the Swimming pool We are busy running our two restaurants ‘cantina teguise’ and ‘tabla arrecife’ so generally are not available in person We give guests an access code for a key box attached next to the door There will be contact details available in the house book for any emergencies Tiagua81 sits within the village of Tiagua, right in the centre of the island Away from the towns and resorts you are still close to everything as the island is so small The village is incredibly quiet and very well positioned to explore the rural side of Lanzarote. Great walking and cycling in surrounding areas. We have enjoyed living here for the last 19years Tiagua has a great fully stocked supermarket with greengrocer, charcuterie and fresh meat counter. There is a Pizzeria on the way into the village & a fantastic 'asadero' (grill) called El Tenique which is one of our favourites. In the neighbouring Village of Tao there is a restaurant 'Bodegon de Tao', popular with the locals and the must-do 'Sociedad' where you can sample local dishes & play a game of 'Pentanca' (boules) Famara beach is close by and offers great walking & surfing, it is a stunning locals beach and can be truly breathtaking There is a farmers market in 'La Vegueta' some 7 minutes drive away, open every Sunday morning for locally grown fruit & veg Teguise village is 10 minutes drive, this is the old capital of Lanzarote and is the oldest settlement in the Canary Islands with over 600 years of history. We have our main restaurant Cantina Teguise here and it is still the most beautiful village on the island. Sunday market is popular with tourists so avoid this day if you don’t enjoy busy places It is essential to rent a car when staying here in Tiagua There is a sporadic bus service
