Vintage Caravan On Alpaca & Animal Farm
Get away from it all when you stay under the stars in Eloise. A 1960's vintage French caravan. Offering an exclusive experience, with her retro decor and a cosy space to spend your day or evenings. Wake up on our family farm surrounded by alpacas, sheep and minature pigs. Get up close and personal with the animals through our morning feeding experience when you book for a 3 night stay! Relax, enjoy the sunshine or fire-pit as the stars come out in your own piece of paradise. Eloise is nestled in the rolling hills of Haccombe on a private farm. Not only can you enjoy picturesque setting, but you will find yourself surrounded by the friendly animals that also inhabit the secluded 9 acre farm. These include a herd of inquisitive alpacas accompanied by friendly sheep and lambs, miniature pigs and chickens. Eloise is separated from the friendly herds by secure fencing and gates you can let yourself through at any time. Collect fresh eggs for your breakfast and even join us for a feeding experience with all of the animals when you book for 3 nights or more! Eloise herself is a vintage caravan, offering a cosy, comfortable fixed small double bed to spend a few nights, but please bare in mind this is not a full size double bed and height can be restrictive in places within the caravan if tall! The view from the bed looks out onto the historic Haccombe valley rolling hills. Eloise provides 12v lighting throughout the caravan, and facilities to make a cuppa on a twin ring gas hob, there is no oven or grill inside Eloise, however we have sited a mobile gas oven outside Eloise. There is a compact hanging closet, kitchen sink and two seater table, again with lovely views. You will be provided with a complimentary welcome hamper, including, milk, tea, coffee, sugar. A selection of other goodies provided for you to enjoy throughout your stay. Whilst Eloise does not have toilet or shower facilities inside the caravan, these facilities are on site. We offer an incredibly clean and privately owned portaloo. We also provide showering facilities in our converted portashower, which offers hot running water. We ensure both our portaloo and portashower are kept in immaculate condition and they provide a one of a kind experience! Eloise does NOT have mains electricity, as hosts we are more than happy to charge power packs up for our guests at our home. Eloise is very much a stand alone and off-grid caravan, as this is how she was built. Please bare in mind that Eloise is situated on a working farm. Discreet checks upon the facilities and animal feeding are carried out in the mornings and afternoon and our 9 acres of land provides a large area to ensure you remain undisturbed during your stay. If you are looking for an incredibly unique stay, which includes alpacas, sheep, lambs, miniature pigs, chickens and 1 million bee's and a retro caravan like no other, then Eloise is the perfect choice for you your break. Guests are advised to park at the top of the lane in a secluded area. There is an uneven bridlepath which provides access to our farm, which is just a short 5 minute walk away. Matt will meet guests and provide transport for luggage and guests on the farm ATV to help you get settled in. Nearby there is a small local shop and a little further is the town of Newton Abbot. There are plenty of pubs, walks and shops just a short walk or car ride away. Situated amongst bridleways and beautiful valley walks, the local area offers historic properties and amazing views. The John Musgrove trail joins our location, and offers dedicated signed walks around the local area. Parking is not advised on the farm as the bridlepaths are very uneven and could cause damage to your car. All guests are greeted, shown where to park and then given a unique lift down to the farm on the ATV. If wildlife is your passion like us then you will love looking out for our resident tawny owl, standing by the hand wash station and looking up into the trees opposite is his favourite hangout! In the field opposite our main gate into the farm, at dusk and dawn you can spot the wild deer roaming around through the meadow pasture. As for birds we boast an array including the green woodpecker, jays, tits, buzzards, chaffinches, bullfinches and many more. Also bats are visible around our great turkey oaks at sunset. PLEASE NOTE: You are staying on a working farm, there are dangers around in various forms, by confirming your booking with us you accept all risk and liability for any slips, trips, falls accidents and injury while on-site with ourselves. We accept no liability for any injuries caused from our animals, facilities or equipment, or thefts. Your vehicle is parked on a public road which you also accept responsibility for. Sorry to sound so formal but we have to ensure all guests are aware. We have three dogs and these will accompany us to the farm everyday, if you have a fear of dogs please make us aware and we will happily make other arrangements for them :-)
