Casa Rustica de Alagoa

Casa Rustica is a renovated farm cottage in the small village of Alagoa, 2kms from Arganil. It is part of the main farmhouse, Casa de Alagoa, with a separate entrance and private garden. there are 2 bedrooms, shower room, living room with large open fire and kitchen. The garden has a table and chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ with views across the apple orchards to the mountains. A great place to relax and unwind and a good starting point for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside! The farm cottage was an old barn that has been converted to make a quaint holiday cottage leaving the wood beams and ceilings intact and some of the internal stone walls. The large open plan living room has an open fireplace for the winter and remains nice and cool during the summer due to the thickness of the stone walls, almost 1 metre! Outside the private garden looks on to the apple orchards and has a BBQ and outside furniture where you can relax and catch the sun. A basket of logs is provided on arrival for the winter months. Each basket after this is charged at €5 per basket. Free wifi internet access is available. I live in a small mountain village approximately 20 minutes drive from Alagoa and am happy to deal with any problems that may arise if you need me! The cottage is set in a quiet place just off the main road and less than 15 minutes walk into Arganil where you will find shops, restaurants, banks, cafes etc. There is a river beach in Sarzedo which has a public swimming pool and abr/cafe an is less than 2 kms away and another river beach at Secarias approx. 2kms where there is a bar/cafe and you can hire boats through the summer. There is parking to the side of the garden on the adjacent piece of land. The house is normally only available for a minimum of 4 nights throughout August.
