Palace View Apartment - Downtown Mafra

In the heart of Mafra, on the same road as the National Palace (just a 3-minute walk away), this newly renovated apartment is easy to find. Wake up to the view of the impressive palace and feel the beat of the town by watching the locals going about their daily routine walking into the many banks, restaurants and shops on the street and into the Café below the apartment. On a clear day, you can view the Atlantic Ocean and the world surfing reserve of Ericeira, a 5-minute drive on the highway. When you enter this sparkling clean apartment located on a second floor, you walk into the hallway decorated with Portuguese traditional glazed tiles. There you´ll find a bright great room with two areas, a dining room and a living room with a sleeper sofa that accommodates two guests comfortably. The apartment offers two bedrooms, the master bedroom has an amazing view of the palace and is very spacious with a queen bed. The second bedroom has two individual beds (a twin bed with a pull out/ slide out bed underneath) and a laptop friendly workplace. The apartment is equipped with full kitchen utilities including a dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine for all types of hot beverages. A hair dryer, iron w/ iron board and vacuum are available. Also provided are linen, towels, shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand soap, and tissues. The apartment comes with free high speed WIFI throughout the apartment. Guests have full access to the apartment, except one locked cabinet specifically for the owners use. Our job is to make sure our guests enjoy the most amazing stay. Although we are not on site, our co-host will meet you for the check in at the building entrance. She will do a walk-through the apartment. You can contact her at any time during your stay for any questions and /or concerns to ensure the most memorable stay during your visit. All the information necessary will be gladly provided (directions, suggestions of various activities such as horseback riding, cycling, dining, shopping, sightseeing, surf lessons etc). Check in and check out times are a guide and are flexible provided the apartment is serviced and ready and can be made available. Please note that the apartment is not serviced daily. The service charge is for cleaning and servicing the apartment after check out. If you require housekeeping or cleaning, there is an additional housekeeping service fee for cleaning, washing, or ironing which you may request as needed. This is at an additional cost. Please make sure to contact us prior to your arrival with an approximate time to make sure your check in is planned accordingly and guests are accommodated as smoothly and as quickly as possible. This applies to both new and returning guests. We want to make sure our guests receive the best experience in Mafra. Mafra must-visits are the National Palace, recently classified as Unesco World Heritage, the National Deer Ranch of Mafra (Tapada), the Iberian Wolf Recovery Center, the beautiful baroque garden of Jardim do Cerco and the Jose Franco miniature village of Sobreiro. The apartment is the perfect home base to visit the capital of the country, Lisbon, just a 30 minute drive on the highway, the famous fisherman´s village of Ericeira, known for its beaches and surf spots, the historic town of Sintra, 25 minutes drive away, the picturesque village of Azenhas do Mar overlooking the ocean as well as all the west coast. For those who love sports Mafra offers a huge modern Sports Complex (Parque Desportivo Municipal Engenheiro Ministro dos Santos). If you don´t feel like driving, you can catch a bus to Lisbon or other locations. The bus stop is right at the top of the street a few steps away from the apartment. Early in the morning enjoy the unique smell of the freshly-baked famous Mafra bread and pastries made in the bakery on the ground floor of the 3-storey apartment building. Cook your own meals in the cozy, modern, fully equipped kitchen or just take the stairs down to a restaurant conveniently located at the doorstep of the building. Close by, there are many other restaurants where you can enjoy the world-renowned portuguese cuisine. Dear guest, please note that from 1st of January 2019 a city tax of 2 EUR per person between 1st May and 31th October and 1 € per person between 1st November and 30th April, per night is not included in the total price and must be paid at check-in. This fee is charged to all guests aged 13 years and over. It is subject to a maximum amount of € 14 per person.
