Riverside Cabin

The Riverside Cabin was originally constructed in 1935 as a Hill Country get-away to accommodate hunting, fishing and river activities. It is located on the original route to the Old Spanish Trail on the banks of the Guadalupe River, within 1/2 mile of Comfort's Historic District. Situated on 10 acres, the cabin is perfect as a quiet, private retreat or as a comfortable and affordable central location for exploring the Hill Country. Renovated in 2005, the cabin includes a screened in porch, a wood burning stove and plenty of outdoor spots for lounging. There is a double bed in the bedroom, a double futon on the screened porch and a twin day bed in the living room. Guests will have access to the Guadalupe, a fire pit for cool nights, a teepee and Hill Country views. Enjoy the space, the plants and the wildlife, all within a 10 minute walk to downtown Comfort. Our home is located on the property. We will be close by to answer any questions or give you recommendations for local activities. You may have interactions with other family or guests outside, while at the river or in other shared recreational spaces. There is ample space for distancing and all guests are expected to respect the privacy and safety of other guests. The river may be low in late summer, but the swimming hole on our property can always accommodate a dip, no matter what. The water is cool and always moving. We provide adult sized floats, tubes, and recommend that you bring water shoes, as they can make the in-and-out easier. We do not provide beach towels. Charcoal and grill tools are provided for your use should you choose to cook outside. The The Roadrunner Cabin (Riverside's sister property) is 300 feet away and is also available for booking. When both properties are occupied, you may have interactions with other guests while at the river or in any of the other shared recreational spaces. There is ample outdoor space for distancing and guests are expected to respect the privacy and safety of others. The coffee maker is a Keurig. We provide a variety of k-cup flavors but you are welcome to bring your own. Other basic kitchen tools are available but do let us know if you have questions about specific gadgets.
