WildSpring Guest Habitat is a small, ecofriendly B&B resort overlooking the ocean in Port Orford, Oregon, 60 miles north of California. On five acres of old Native American grounds, it offers five luxurious cabin suites filled with art and antiques, a walking labyrinth, Guest Hall, outdoor sculpture garden, and spectacular open-air slate hot tub. Art, picnic tables and hammocks throughout the grounds. Recommended in the NY Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Sunset Magazine (8 times!) You'll stay in a cabin suite built like a small home, filled with art and antiques, with radiant-heated floors and vaulted ceilings. Earthsea has a comfortable but rich atmosphere. It gets a medium amount of ambient light and feels a little like French provincial elegance. Approximately 360 sf, with a separate bedroom and livingroom which can be separated by sliding doors. It has a top-of-the-line, super comfy pillow-top Simmons queen-sized bed. It has an LED TV/DVD combo (movie playback only - with a free library of over 650 DVDs in the Guest Hall) and a Sony CD/iPod stereo. Plus a a small refrigerator (stocked with a special WildSpring Nalgene bpa-free water bottle). We even supply the candles. You can use the beautifully equipped kitchen in the Guest Hall to prepare lunches and dinner, plus a propane and charcoal grills for your use (we provide gas and charcoal). Our trails through the woods have a base of compacted gravel for stability and drainage, and a layer of woodchips for quiet. No parking in the cabin area for peace and quiet (though it's a short walk). Guests can drive up to the Guest Hall, and there is a ramp into it from the parking area. If a guest is in a wheelchair, we would have to assist down the trail to the spa and getting in and out. If a guest has significant physical disabilities, we would put them into Rosslyn, cabin 1, with its own parking space. Our guests love the peace and solitude here, but we live here (in a separate home) and are always available to answer questions and ensure your stay is wonderful. Port Orford is a small, quirky fishing town of 1,100 people on Oregon's spectacular south coast. Where the forests and the mountains meet the crashing seas, it's a town as remarkable for what it has as well as what it doesn't. You'll find amazing natural beauty. Fresh, clean air. Unbeaten paths and clear vistas as far as the eye can see. No strip malls. No fast food. No crowds. Lots to see and do and perfectly located to explore Oregon's spectacular south coast. You'll find a working lighthouse (the most westerly in the 48 states), an authentically restored Victorian mansion, wetlands, miles of hiking and walking trails, clean beaches, art galleries, all sorts of restaurants, and close to everything from world-class golf, ocean, lake and river fishing, jet boats on the Rogue River, kayaking, horseback riding, and really outstanding birding. There is free parking on the property, but almost no public transportation in our little town. During Covid, our hot tub is available for appointments, to ensure there is only one cabin in it at any one time. The slots are hour-long starting at the top of the hour, from 9am - 10pm June - Sept, and 3 - 9pm the rest of the year. Call, email or message for your time.
