Kapitan's Cottage: Eco-Converted Catskills w/Pool

Relax and unwind in a newly converted and light filled cottage in a tranquil country setting. The space features two floors with modern amenities and a full, and half bathroom, and is very family friendly. Situated close to Kingston, the hamlets of High Falls and Stone Ridge, yet just far enough out to feel you're away from city hustle and bustle. We’re only 90 minutes north of the city in picturesque hudson valley and are functioning close to environmentally 'off - grid' via solar panels. Cozy up in 1200 square feet of light filled and spacious surroundings. Lounge on a nice cushy couch and get a great night’s sleep on some very comfortable beds. Wake up to the sounds of the birds and the wind rustling in the leaves. Take a few days off and head up to the lovely Hudson valley for a memorable trip. We promise you'll be rejuvenated. The space has been renovated to a high standard and rebuilt from the original barn space that accompanied the 1701 dutch colonial farmhouse up the hill. We have an eat in kitchen with induction stove top and dishwasher as well as a countertop electric oven - works fine for casseroles, pizza etc (located in the cabinets beneath) and a full refrigerator with freezer. The kitchen packs a lot of punch and functions very well. We also have a couple of coffee plunge pots, electric kettle, pots and pans, dishware, bowls, cutlery and a decent selection of oils and spices. The downstairs bedroom opens onto a private garden area at the rear of the house with a firepit, grill and some outdoor furniture. We are planning a stone patio here in the fall. The cottage is set on a cul de sac and is very private and quiet Sole Use of the private back yard area, fire pit and coal fired bbq so you can relax under a canopy of trees in total privacy. There are many great trails within a very short distance from us. There is also a public canoe boat launching spot at fourth lake just around the corner from us. We’re available if you have any questions and respect our guest’s privacy. We’re often around but not all of the time. There are so many things to do and see in the surrounding towns including amazing hiking trails, swimming holes, farms & farmer's markets, apple picking, vintage stores, barn sales, restaurants and cafes. We’re fairly much equidistant from the towns of Kingston, stone ridge, Rosendale and High Falls. Best to take a car up to the house with free parking on the premises. GPS is highly recommended! Some guests have gotten the bus to kingston or rosendale and used taxi services which are available locally. We have well water which is safe to drink. The water is treated for sulphur smell but it will taste different to municipal water. Some guests bring bring bottled water. Although on 6 acres of land, the house is visible from the road and the neighbor's house, particularly during the winter months when the trees are bare. It is however very private. We have neighbors; Please park right outside the space and not on the driveway as it's the parking for the stone house next door. We have WIFI, Roku steaming and a tv with dvd's but no cable TV service. Eat-in Kitchen is very functional with good cooking facilities; counter induction stove, counter oven and coffee plunge pots. Please be aware that we have workmen attending to the lawns and surroundings as necessary, from time to time, and cannot predict when they will arrive exactly. We do our best to inform the tenants however.
