Make this your "get-away/retreat" in a quiet, small town with numerous gardens to enjoy on our hilly, heavily wooded acre. Our quaint home is tucked away in historic downtown Jordan. There is a screened in pergola and large wooden deck plus several other seating areas to watch birds & enjoy nature. You're also welcome to putter in the garden. Cook in our fully equipped kitchen, use the outdoor gas grill or walk/drive less than a mile to several cafes, coffee shops, grocery store deli. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat yet conveniently located in a small valley town (pop 7000) this is the place. We have a large parking area reserved for guests. In cooler weather we have a wood burning stove and often have outdoor bonfires. Our deck and pergola provide peace and privacy. Our living room windows provide great sunset views and of course you can wander our acre of gardens to enjoy nature--trees, plants, birds, butterflys etc. Entire home (except 2 offices and master bedroom) and gardens. We have a dedicated off-street parking lot just north of our home. We'll be around in the morning but likely gone much of the day and back home in the late afternoon. We can answer questions by cell or text when not present. BTW, we offer morning coffee; a great restaurant (the Feedmill) is within walking distance. They have a wide variety menu for breakfast and lunch. There are several other eateries within walking distance. Our home is located on a quiet narrow street with little traffic. Our friendly neighbors are seldom seen or heard. Sidewalks will accommodate walks into "old town" downtown. A short walk away is the Mini-Met ball field and Lagoon Park with it's pond and waterfall. Almost everything you may need can be reached within a mile or so. As a small town Jordan has almost anything you may need within a mile by walking or driving. It is located on Hwy 169, a main thoroughfare with easy access to MSP airport (30-40 minutes drive) and numerous shopping and entertainment venues in Shakopee, Prior Lake, Chaska and the greater Twin City area. Mankato is about an hour drive away on 169 . No public transportation is available in town except for taxi service but nearby Shakopee has bus service which also connects to the light rail. Smoking is only allowed outdoors. You are free to wander in the gardens or rest on one of our shady benches or on the deck. If the weather is cool enough we can have a bon fire behind the garden shed.
