Welcome to “Wood View@The Old Grain House. A beautiful oak framed studio set in the grounds of our family home. A quiet, charming part of the Hereford countryside surrounded by farmland and woodland. 5 miles from centre of Hereford, 8 miles Ross, 15 miles from Ledbury and 5 min from Holme Lacy Campus. Suitable for one person or a couple, short or long stay, business or pleasure, this is the perfect location for a peaceful retreat whilst exploring many of the famous nearby tourist attractions. Wood View has been tastefully decorated throughout and has a spacious living area, balcony with table and chairs where you can relax and enjoy the views of open fields and woodland. You may even catch a glimpse of deer and other wildlife. Set in private gardens you have access to the grassed area in front of the property, as well as a Cedar Pavillion which is available to all our guests. The living space benefits from full central heating, Campbell combination double Mattress, supportive pocket springs and comfort layer, luxury bedding and towels. If you require a certain choice of pillow please let us know beforehand. Shower room complete with heated towel rail and robe hooks. Fully equipped kitchen complete with toasted sandwich /waffle/grill, kettle, toaster, microwave and an IceQ 24 Litre mini bar fridge. Ample free parking with private entrance. There are a number of steps leading to the property. From the property you can travel by car into the village of Fownhope (5 minutes) where you will find a number of country pubs ideal for a coffee, breakfast/lunch/dinner. The village also has a butchery, village shop and post office, and The Shop @ Coo Corner offers a diverse range of giftware, beauty products, books and toys. For cyclists the Forest of Dean is a must with a 11 mile family cycle trail taking you along the Old Severn and Wye railway. Walkers can explore the Malvern Hills and the Welsh border, Brecon Beacons is 45 min - hour away. Close to the River Wye/Lugg we are known for Salmon fishing - permits can be purchased locally. Canoeing in the Wye is a favourite activity for those who love the outdoors. Great way to spend your free time or why not try the glorious Wye Valley cruise boat trip at Symonds Yat. If you fancy some history a visit to Hereford Cathedral and the famous Mappa Mundi and chained library is a definite. So much to explore and not forgetting the cider producers Westons along with The Chase Distillery for your favourite gin and vodka. Public transport is limited so a car is advised. There is a train station in central Hereford which is approximately 15 minute drive. If a taxi is required we are happy to arrange this in advance. Sat Nav will take you past the property so please message with your email when you have booked so directions and check in details can be forwarded to you. We own a variety of chickens (no cockerel) so free range eggs are available on request. Breakfast - Complimentary milk, bread, cereal, preserves, Tea/coffee, sugar, herbal tea and bottles of water all provided. We are happy to provide safe storage for bikes and drying room for clothing if required.
